Okay, So I’d second the recommendation to try as many six photo as you can. All that I’ve tried are wonderful. A quick word, though, about the Natural: It’s very hard to take. I think so, at least, and I’ve never heard anybody mention this. It is delicious, but the grind is extremely fine and takes a bit of expertise to sniff without coughing. I still haven’t gotten the hang of it. So DEFINITELY get Natural, but proceed with caution…
Yes @TobaccyLassy the lungs really do seem to miss being full of smoke, so I don’t know quite when ill be giving them up for good but I think cutting down is definitely a positive thing :).
Indian snuffs are amazing. I love them all (except the western types wow, blast, temptation which are OK but not as good as traditional Indian scents). I’m really saddened by the apparent loss of Sun snuffs. They too are fantastic.

It took me awhile to make the leap into Indian snuffs ,I had the preconceived notion they were all strongly perfumey overly cloying scented snuffs. I found I was misinformed. Now I can’t get enough of them. And even don’t mine the strongly scented ones. But the best thing is the nicotine hit. Some like D White ,cheeta and others do take some time to master. But once mastered they can be enjoyed for what they are. Fine snuffs

cheeta is a favorite of mine. Great scent. if sniffing is too hard plug it into the nose pinch the nose close after blowing out the fine dust. Good nic hit great scent.
For me the king of indian snuffs is regular Sparrow…that´s the most typical indian snuff…

@nosemboss I have fallen into that category meself. The one consoling factor, is that the more I get, there is always going to be someone out there with more than I have!
There are Indian snuffs which are all IMO fantastic but there are also snuffs from India which are not what I would call “Indian”. Dholakia has lots of these (F.U.B.A.R. is a good example) and Six Photo is near headed in this direction with the introduction of #666. These companies can’t be blamed for wanting to create snuffs that they think we would like in fact they should be rewarded. However caution should be used in blurring the lines between traditional Indian snuffs and snuffs made in India for export.
I’ve got a big tin of Cheeta that I adore but my snuffin buddies look at me like I’m satan when they try it. Cheeta is awesome but BUT BUTT BUTT…you need to set the mood for it. You cain’t just grab your tin of Cheeta and go to your cubicle or hammer. I like it when play COD. Call of Duty. It’s a videogame. I play online. And I hunt and snipe. It’s my hunting snuff. It’s otherworldly. I have a tin of Dholakhia White that burns me up everytime I try it. Jeez…sorry guys I got on here thinking I was gonna tell yall about Indian snuff but all I know is the two I have fill niches that no other snuffs could provide… I’m just gonna see my way out because I could write a book about the nuances Cheeta puts in my adled brain… And the D WHite…It’s like my Everclear of snuffs but with a class you would have to experience. Would I suggest you snuff it? Nope. ONLY YOU KNOW IF YOU WANNA GO THIS ROUTE. It’s a route to be reckoned with. Let’s put it this way…no reviews nor recommendations will do either of these snuffs true Justice. My recommendation is too just walkaway for awhile and snuff Toque. If you are a noob listen if not…join me…snuff the Cheeta…
I love both Cheeta and D.White, but Cheeta has the edge. I’m going to buy bulk of both next year.
i have tried a pound of 6photo snuffs. Anarkali kailash and special are very good oil based black snuffs. Special is very parfumed everyone around me smells it even after 2 hours after my pinch. These are very lightly mentholated which i like. Cheta and white are too fine for me. They goes directly to mu loungs.

According to Vikas Grover of 6 Photo, India has about 100 snuff companies - some of them obviously very small and localised. Hopefully more of them will be tempted to sell their wares in the West as the snuff renaissance carries on. I hope so, because true Indian snuff can be sensational.
Which ones you will like is all a matter of personal taste. As has been said previously, try as many as you possibly can. But I would get a bit more than 6 g of each!
When you find a few that you are wild about, you will want to have enough to hold you over until you get your next shipment.
I find most Indian snuffs very agreeable. The only ones I tend not to care so much for are the Western copies but a lot of the traditional Indian scented ones are, as @Snuffster says, sensational.
Rather than start a new thread, I figured I would post here. I am really liking my intro to indian snuffs. I have tried 5 photo himalaya, 6 photo special, kaliash, super kaliash, etc. I find myself wishing they were not medicated. Can you guys recommend some indian snuffs with the same fragrance without the cooling sensation? Are there any or do they lose something without the cool?
Dholakia dang it doesn’t over use menthol in their indian snuffs.
@fbones24 I think the only Indian ones I have tried and found to be non mentholated are also mostly unscented. Dholakia White, Black and Sparrow regular or are all without any menthol. They are also without scenting. I think there was one from Sun snuffs without menthol, but I can’t remember which one it was. A wild guess would be Rangili, but Don’t go by that. Other than that, there is the Madras style which I am familiar with. These are not so different from Sparrow, but really are plain and not perfumed. Haven’t tried much from the six photo or five photo range, but all I have sampled were mentholated at least slightly.

Hmm, well, being an Indian (and only having tried some Indian snuffs) this is what I have to say -
If you like raw tobacco flavor with least scent - 6 photo natural, Swastik, or any of the Madras snuffs
If you like heavenly flavor and scent - 6 photo Super Kailash, Motia and Anarkali, Horse Brand Joshi, Sugandh Sagar Rose
If you like mentholated type snuffs - 6 photo Kailash, Special and Medicated No. 6 and 66, 5 photo Himalaya
If you like fine dry snuffs (and only if you’ve mastered the technique of taking them) - NB Madras, 6 Photo Cheeta and Super Chetak
Yet have to try other Indian snuffs myself so my list is based on my limited experience and procurement
