Howdy! All these years that I have been farting around with Ozona President… How come nobody ever told me about the WONDERFUL snuffs that are made in INDIA? I got a 6 Photo Kailash freebee from Mr. Snuff and I could just kick myself for wasting all that time with European snuff! Then again… my retailers here in the USA didn’t carry any snuff from India. THANK YOU MR. SNUFF!!!
cause you didn’t ask.
If you think Kailash is good you have to try some Sun snuffs. Sun Kohinoor was my first snuff and probably the best snuff Ive ever had. The Indian White snuffs are good too, if you like loads of nicotine and super fine/dry snuffs.
If you like Kailash you should really try 5 Photo Himalaya, it is very similar but I like it better than Kailash
I must try me an Indian snuff… You all make it sounds so good
Howdy Mike! Are those handlebars real?
Those Sun snuffs are mighty strong. Few mention it but they deliver some nic.
@howdydave : Sorry Dave, I couldnt grow facial hair to save my life… Lol
You should try Dholokia White or 6Photo Cheeta, they’ll knock your socks off. Literally!
Howdy! I have ordered: 6 Photo Super Kailash 6 Photo Special 6 Photo Cheeta Dholakia Sparrow Cool 6 Photo Kailash and Sun Kohinoor (No 5 Photo was in stock.) That should get me started anyway. I prefer moist snuffs.
I think they took a lot of us by surprise. One day Dholakia appeared and a whole new world (or continent) of snuff arrived. I have yet to try an Indian snuff that tastes like a western one even the ones meant for US consumption - they all have a distinct background taste, I always liken it to incense.
I like the Indian snuffs scents, but they frequently start clogging me up out of nowhere. A friend also temporarily ruined one (no longer an issue as I’ve forgotten which) by remarking after taking a pinch, “You know what this smells like? A fresh urinal puck.” I still want to try more, but because of the clogging they cause me at random, I’m only about half way through an 8g tin on 6 Photo Anarkali that I bought last winter or fall.
Thank you all! Lovers of Indian Snuffs. Look forward to hearing from more connoisseurs.
The most US/UK friendly Indian snuff out there IMHO wouls have to be Sparrow. It’s got a plain tobacco base with a light coconut touch. The Sparrow cool has menthol so you don’t really detect the coconut. It’s real pleasant and much more refined than the plain Taj Madras.
I think the coconut smell might be rustica. Just a theory but I’ve caught the coconut in various degrees in diffrent snuffs that have rustica. Though now that I think of it it’s more likely that the coconut scent is diffrent enough from the rusticas that maybe it’s a hybrid tobacco or something like that.
Are Dholakia White and White Elephant the only “white” snuffs out there??
Sometimes non tobacco glucose based snuffs are sold as white snuffs, but unless you want to snuff mentholated sugar they are best avoded.
@zzedo310 6 Photo Cheeta is also an Indian white snuff
5 Photo and 6 Photo appear to have the portrait of the same person as their logo. (To me it appears to be the same person based on the online images that I have seen.) Are they manufactured by the same company?
nope diffrent companies and according to one of the snuff makers from India. The companies named themselves by the number of photos because at one point literacy was very low and people would ask for snuffs by the number of pictures on the tins instead of by the company name. Eventualy they became the company name. I might have missed a point or two just thought it was an interesting side note.
@bob that’s true, even today in certain areas in india snuff is bought by counting the number of photos on the label. This trend is prevalent mostly in tribal areas
Hunh… I wondered about that myself. Thanks for the info. I added the 6 photo 8g. bundle to my last Mr.Snuff order. I gotta try them at least once to satisfy my curiosity.
So what happened to 5 Photo? They seem to have disappeared behind the Incense Curtain.
Who’s picture is that on the 6 Photo logo anyway… Somebody famous or just an anonymous mystery man?
@howdydave The pictures are of my grandfather Munshi ram and his elder brother gopal dass Grover, founders of 6 photo snuff
Recognition of heritage… As it should be!
Many European and American products used to carry pictures of company founders on the label, although the practice is seen as terribly outdated in modern times. (Some American snuffers here may be old enough to remember Smith Bros. cough drops, the last such US product I can think of.) I rather liked the implication of pride in tradition that such labels carried.
Well gee… Snuffers are generally seen as “terribly outdated in modern times” too, aren’t we? Yup… I remember the Smith Brothers.
We still seem to have pictures of Samuel Gawith and Dr Rumney on snuff containers!
That’s funny the Smith bros always made me feel the opposite way. Like their nod to tradition made it look less tradional when every other aspect was so modern.
If they get rid of the little Alice In Wonderland rabbit on Brer Rabbit molasses bottles I’m going to complain. It’s bad enough they turned Aunt Jemima into Condoleeza Rice. Is nothing sacred any more?
Howdy Spyro! I have been disgusted for ages that Braer Rabbit molasses promotes ignorance by using Lewis Carroll’s character from “Alice” as a logo rather than using the Br’er Rabbit character from the Uncle Remus tales.
I have an Indian snuff. I have a bit of a funny story. Last weekend, I went to the local shop to hang out with a good pipe man friend of mine. Let’s say that he is no stranger to lady nicotine. We usually exchange our open tins of tobacco, smoke bowls, and talk of pipes. He’s a well involved member of the briar. Any ways, I brought some snuffs with me that are interesting. Some Klostermischung and some Indian snuff with a guy with a beard and white hat. Well, let me tell ya, when he took a snuff of the Indian stuff, he jumped higher than Michael Jordan! I was cracking up. About flavour, the one I have, well, it’s pretty awful. The texture of it is more akin to an almost toothpaste like thing. The flavour is strong and lingers for a very long time. For the next half an hour, I couldn’t smoke my pipe, because the only thing on my palette was this floral taste from the snuff. It was very much akin to incense, as though I attempted to put a bottle of Chanel No. 5 in my nose. If you want flavour BIG time, then go for it. Else, it’s pretty bad, IMO. Based on the texture of the snuff in question, I would summize it’s probably not sniffed much in Indian, but appplied to the gums. That’s not my thing, so I can’t comment on how well this particular Indian snuff works for that.
Sounds like maybe you got one that is intended to be used as a dentifrice. “A guy with a beard and white hat”… That could be either 5 Photo or 6 Photo. Count the number of pictures (the big one and the smaller ones around it) and you will know… there are either 5 pictures or 6 pictures. I remember talking to the guy who owns the Indian store down the street from me about a year ago and he mentioned something about “snuff paste” for rubbing on the gums. If memory serves, it may be an ayurvedic treatment for gingivitis and periodontitis.
Just got my order of Indian snuffs in today: 6 Photo Kailash 6 Photo Special 6 Photo Cheeta 6 Photo Super Kailash Dholakia Sparrow Cool Sun Kohinoor I am going to be patient and extend my initial delight by delving into them slowly. I already have some 6 Photo Kailash from my Mr. Snuff freebee so I will work on the tad that I have left while I try a new one. Hmmmm… I’ll start with 6 Photo Special. I got a 200 g tin so the first endevor is getting the snuff out. Once I pried the top off I encountered 2 layers of celophane sealers. the first was easy. The second I opened by poking a slot into it (I hope that this will insure minimal loss of moisture.) Got out my little 0.5 ml spoon and put some into a snuffbox. WONDERFUL!!! I now have a Kailash and a Special available to my nose. I will save other delights for another day. Patience is a virtue. Gluttony is a vice.
FUBAR Grunt is made in India. Not sure how that happened
Dholakia in India makes snuff under contract. The FUBAR line in my opinion is their best. They also make Blast, She, Temptation, and Wow.
I opened a 200 g canister of 6 Photo Special and I am scratching my head trying to figure out how it is packed… Are there multiple seals inside of the canister to insure freshness? I took the top seal off and cut a slot in the next one. It seems as if not far below this seal is yet another one. “Multiple pouches” inside the canister maybe? If that is the case, I only want to open one at a time.
Like for you,Dave,my patience is in trouble when I’m waiting for this type of mail… I asked myself where are situated most strong différence betewen indian and english snuff. May be the indian one is stronger in général…I don’t know it very well for the moment. May be less subtle ? I think you have in this point ideas more lightfull…
Just tried my first pinch of: Dholakia Sparrow Cool… It has many similarities to an American Scotch. It starts with the same intensity and then mellows out and lingers much longer. The menthol is almost an undertone.
Howdy gandalf! If patience is not a natural attribute, it comes with practice. If it does not, you tend to lose your mind. For me, the big difference in the Indian snuffs is the progressive changes you smell once you have the snuff in your nose. To make an illustration, I would compare European snuff to smelling one flower… Indian snuff is taking a walk all the way through the garden. That along with the fact that the sensations can last MUCH longer with a very small pinch of Indian snuff than they might with a big pinch of European snuff.
Just tried my first few pinches of Cheetah but I haven’t been able to figure it out yet. Probably because the last snuff in my nose was a Latakia and it may be lingering a bit. After reading the reviews, I had the good sense to put it into a bullet for first encounters.
Your image of garden is quite évocative,by chance I should recieve soon a tin of 6 photo Cheeta to walk in.
Since dry fine ground snuffs are new to me, it will take a bit of time for me to master Cheeta. I am starting by enjoying my Cheeta with my Posh snuff bullet.
cheeta is a challenge for sure. worth perisisting as it is wonderful stuff. I have enjoyed 6 photo, 5 photo and dholakia snuffs, all great stuff. 6 photo anarkali is my favorite so far, with fubar (dholakia) grunt a close second.
It may sound kind of funny but… My first sensation with Cheeta reminds me of Pond’s Cold Cream!
Looks like Dholakia Sparrow Cool may present a bit of a challenge too!
I found for the moment principaly a lovely smell of incence at Cheeta(like you said Howdy for an other 6 photos)…In my next order of snuff I will try the six photos who spread pomegranate… … Anarkaly. A strange thing, nobody wrote about 5 photos…
I have not tried 5 Photo yet due to the fact that ever since I discovered Indian snuff, 5 Photo has been out of stock at Mr. Snuff.
I got a can of 6 Photo Cheeta in the mail today. The scent is incredible and unlike anything I’ve sampled before, but it’s a formidable challenge to take! I’m only just getting the hang of toasts, let alone Indian whites.
I say try them all! All are different than western snuff, and mighty tasty.
I tried hydrating some Dholakia Sparrow Cool… It gets MUCH darker when it has a bit of moisture in it! A bit of moisture really brings out the menthol too.
Speaking of Indian snuffs, this customs hold up of Mr. Snuff’s Dholakia order is making me a little crazy, been out of Dholakia White forever now…I have emailed Dholakia asking if I could purchase directly from them but I cannot get anyone to reply to my emails.
I’m still loving Anarkali, it’s a lush snuff indeed. Would anyone have any suggestions for which 6 Photo snuff I should try next, having enjoyed Anarkali? I’m extremely impressed with the quality and packaging of Anarkali so I’d like to explore more of the 6 Photo range before I move on to other Indian snuff exploration.
Have been ‘stuffing’ Cheeta all day (fighting a worthwhile losing battle to keep it out of my lungs!). The scent is out of this world…absolutely divine on a hot, sunny day like this. I’m starting to believe that certain snuffs are more enjoyable in certain atmospheric conditions. I would pay good money for incense which replicates the Cheeta scent.
@jinder 6 Photo Special is really good It’s a dark snuff similar to Kailash but for some reason I like Special better.
Thanks for the tip! I’ll add a tin to my next order
For me, it is too close a call between Kailash and Special to name a favorite.
Provably, you put “Temptations” product in a inférior place than some others indian snuff. They semms to be only médiocrs tests to approach europeans ones. Its a subsydary to Dhokalia whose purpose very fines snuffs on others way…
you know I have not tried them and I get the impression that people definatly buy them frequently. I guess people don’t think of them as being Indian enough like and indian snuff company should be. I’am sure they are awesome just haven’t got around to trying even close to half of the snuffs I really want to.
Most of us, at least in the UK, had taken snuff for years before we even knew snuff was produced in India. It didn’t really figure in the early part of this site as memory serves - and then it just explodes, seemingly, on the snuffing senses. Great stuff.
I ordered the 6 Photo 25 g bundle and it shipped last monday. I also ordered a couple Dholakias. it should be here any day now! The anticipation is just killing me. When I get it I’ll have a little bit of snuff from each country that sellls it on Mr. Snuff. Although my collection will be far from complete I eagerly await the order, especially after hearing so many good things about indian snuffs
What about the Sun snuffs? Have they been DC’d? I liked the two I ordered, still have most of them, at least one of the two smells like a dhoop stick incense, which agrees with me personally.
also I don’t know which 6 photo to get, I don’t want anything musky, but am ok with most florals- unless they’re extra heady. Also which would be a good substitute for that 5 photo (raj?) it’s rather pitch black, and very dense- as a 10 gram tin is tiny. I’ll try to find that tin to look at the label.
I find Sun companie very interesting, their snuffs are quiquly différents each others,I enjoy too Dholakia but in"indian line" before all).I love Sher of Sun,so full of particularity but staying in the tradition.
Which ones were dhoopy?
bob The Rasili triggered the sense memory for me. Maybe a little rosey-er (not “rosier” I think), what I’m trying to say is that the rose is probably the predominant scent, which may be different in some of the dhoops, but I can only compare it to the little Indian sticks that I can find locally. At any rate I find this less heady than some other rose scented snuffs out there. Yes definately less heady than WoS Rose, I just sniffed those two right now… Also, I can say that I detect no musk in the Rasili, which would be a deal breaker for me…
btw, You guys can call me Dhoopy if you want… I like it!
@Mr.O. If you like Indian snuff without musky smell then you can try our special or anarkali. Anarkali is like Raja. Cheetah white snuff & LA Natural are without menthol & perfume
And I enjoy very much in 6 photos particulary the natural one for the moment.
If you are more into toasts and dry snuffs, try 6 Photo Medicated No. 66.
Has anybody tried the new Dholakia Toasts at all? They sound interesting.
We will finish to think you work for 6 photo howdydave… :-j
For Dholakia toasts,I’ve just ordered some Black and some White, absents sice a long time but,if I have buy some new African,I wait too see if they’re close to english toasts or not.
Dave is the unpaid brand ambassador for 6 photo snuffs :-)) :)) :-))
SIX PHOTO, I’ll try some of those. I like lots of floral scents, with just a couple of exceptions. Are any reminiscent of a quality Nag Champa incense, or any with a predominant sandalwoody scent- even galangal, or frankinsense etc.?
A Mr.O The Dholakia Herbal is looking really good. Mixed with tobacco should be great.
Hmm, is that the tobacco-free one in the little flip top? I’ve got some but it’s a couple of years old. Maybe to mix with the D. White? That never occured to me, you might be onto something!

Howdy Gandalf!
Must have been all those years that I spent as a seeker traversing the path of Advaita Vedanta Hinduism…
Either that or my love of Palak Paneer (a delicious, hearty North Indian dish prepared with spinach and Indian cheese.)
@Mr.O You should give Super kailash a try if you like the flavor of Nag Champa. @ Juxtaposer We use oils of Indian herbs like cardamom, cinnamon, saffron, clove, nutmeg, aniseed etc in varying combinations in almost all our snuffs.
ah so that is super Kailash. I wondered. I can’t tell the names from my samples. Though They’re all great.
Sound’s yummy! I’ll try that too!
SIXPHOTO I don’t know which of the strong menthols to get (if I can’t do both now) please advise.
(I tend to like very strong medicateds, with less intense tobacco flavors)
thanks!
@toffeenose I have the super strong toast on the way with my latest order. So… I’ll get back to you on that!
@joesnuffer: Excellent.
@Mr O For strong menthol you may try Medicated no.66. It is our strongest menthol, though we shall soon be launching a super strong menthol version soon.
I can’t stop thinking about the warning label on this tin of 41 Elephant…
Of the three messages – TOBACCO KILLS, Tobacco causes Cancer, and a scorpion – I can’t quite place the non sequitur. Clearly scorpions and tobacco can kill. Furthermore, cancer is one of the ways tobacco can kill. But the scorpion uses self-defense to deliver a relatively quick, paralytic & necrotic death. Unless I’m unaware of the true semiotics at play, I’m going to assume the picture was meant to be a crab.
Just having a bit of fun, really. This stuff will sting you to death.
I believe the zodiac sign Cancer can be pictured as a crab or as a scorpion
Isn’t scorpio the scorpion?
I would like to see a Six Scorpion snuff tin.
Maybe we use the skull and crossbones to signify danger and they use a scorpion…
A better measure of TSNAs (Tobacco Scorpion Nes… Aaaahhhhh!!!s).
:))
Well when you have a country that literacy is one of the issues that you are tackling you need warnings to be visual and not just text. And if you live in Indian you know that scorpions are dangerous. Kind of like the way that America used to have to use skulls and crossbones to say don’t eat or drink this stuff. I just wish all warning labels where this solidly cool.
You have hit the nail on the head, bob.though the scorpion has now been replaced by a cancerous mouth on all packs of smokeless tobacco.
Thanks SIXPHOTO! I think I’ll pick up some of that then.
What? They couldn’t find a picture of a cancerous nose?! Oh wait… there are none.
“we shall soon be launching a super strong menthol version soon”
@SIX PHOTO - That is music to my ears! Will it be plain menthol or have eucalyptus as well as menthol?
I’ve grown very fond of Cheeta recently. I find it the tastiest and easiest white snuff.
actualy joe snuffer sometimes smokers get nasal cancers. Probably some of the damn chemicals they ad to the stuff.
The change in the warning label makes me sad. I love the scorpion.
@Pennanngalan we have recently just developed another premium version of Medicated no.66 with extra strong menthol & eucalyptus plus some more medicated ingredients.
What is “more medical ingredients” ?
I guess I’m not used to the vagueness. In America the doctors tell you exactly what you are taking and the pharmacies give you documentation on legal sized paper. Even herbalists let you know exactly what they are giving you.
I’ve just ordered:
6 Photo Anarkali 8g
6 Photo Cheeta 35g
6 Photo Kailash 8g
6 Photo Medicated 6g
6 Photo Medicated No.66 8g
6 Photo Natural 6g
6 Photo Super Kailash 8g
Will let you know my impression as a n00b on those as soon as I get them.
@datahop - go easy on the Cheeta and Medicated… they are fine enough to choke the livin hell out of you (finer than a toast).
You know, medical ingredients, like asprin and stuff!!
I have a tin of the Cheeta and the Super Kailash in my cellar. They are finely ground and are also something I only use when I’m in the mood for a strong scent.
Oh My… really??? I already have issues with WoS best SP L-) Will post as soon as I get them.
Im going to need to label the tins, as only super chetak is labeled. They all smell like nag champa with a bit different hint of something else between them.
anarkali, superchetak, kalaish, and super kalaish.
definatly get a nag champa scent from 6 photos snuffs.
fortunately I love nag champa. I even have a nag champa cologne… Im not a hippie though!
Ya’ll are making it sound like they all smell the same outside of Cheeta, or is that about right?
just the 4 I have that I listed. Im not familiar with their other products.Im digging arnakali though, light menthol on the back side.
Superchetak is throatie. Damn, it either doesnt leave the spoon, or goes straight to the throat.
they’re are all unique though they have some similar traits. Kinda like friborg and treyer.
I do really like Natural & Cheeta, but I’m too nervous to try anything else in 6 Photo’s line. I don’t much care for any snuff that is heavily scented. I tried most of the Dholakia blends and I didn’t like any of the flavors.
The new 6 Photo medicated snuff is amazing, I love it and I am used to the fine mill of scotches and toasts so my technique is good. This is the only 6 Photo I have tried and it has a little musk scent that is very complimentary with the menthol. I think I will order the #66 and the Cheeta next and give them a try.
Thank You Dave
enjoy your vacation.
I am really really really loving Cheeta. It may even take over Bruton as my favourite super strong snuff. It’s very easy to take considering the grind and the scent is just out of this world and long lasting.
@jazzi_mike: I would heartily recommend the Super Kailash - it is lightly mentholated and not as highly perfumed as other Indian snuffs, it has a ‘baby powder’ quality to it, I can’t quite describe it but it’s really good. You can get a small 4g sachet to try for under $2.
@mr.snuff: Thanks, that’s a great giveaway - I had the medicated 66 in my basket for my next order so I shall be taking advantage of it for sure. I hope you and your wife have a lovely romantic holiday.
Its up, with the code.
8g free when code freebie applied
https://mrsnuff.com/store/free-photo-medicated-p-1860.html?osCsid=3c47fe1ee7b125ea4b1a099fd07981ce
@toffeenose : I just ordered some Super Chetak and Super Kailash. I’ll have another go at fragrant Indian snuffs. They both seemed like they were lighter scented.
Actually it is the Medicated no.66 that is up for grabs
@SIXPHOTO - And Medicated NO. 66 is an awesome snuff too! I haven’t tried the snuffs that are the “base” for this concoction, but I can’t imagine that they would be any better. Medicated NO.66 is 1 of the 3 snuffs that I have “all day, every day”, it is that good in my opinion (the others are GH Kendal Brown and SG Red Crest). A buddy at work agrees and Med66 is the only snuff he will regularly insuflate (he is a dedicated “dipper”, but loves the smell of the Med66). I, for one, am happy to have the opportunity for the freebie and will make good snuffing of it! I can’t wait for the “super-mentholated” to hit the market! I find the Med66 to be a superb deal for my wallet! If the new product is as good, it will make an excellent “morning-wake-me-up” to start the day.
Will the Super menthol be labelled Medicated no 666 ?
\\m/
:))
^ I am in favor of this.
Hell and fire are sure to be released
Six Photo Super Menthol No.666. Snuff that will possess your body and make you burn.
6 Photo #666. Tame the beast.
Edit: Master the beast would be better
With more medical ingredients!
Nasal Ayurveda, Yes Please!!
Dang… I need to read the forums more often. Just ordered 6 cheetah…ah well next time lol.
LOL LOL LOL :))
Super Medicated no.666 Not a bad idea at all.
I don’t know about no. 666…
It could be a two edged sword. Here in the west “666” is a sign of the devil.
I thought we made that pretty clear, actually =P
Howdy Harlequin!
Adequately clear for anybody who has grown up in a “Christian society.” I don’t know how well it is known in Indian society, so I just thought that I would be explicit about it. Of course, many who would interpret it that way look upon tobacco use in any way, shape or form as being “sinful.”
Labeling your own products in this fashion might be considered to be “a bad business proposition.” One does not want to intentionally offend any of their potential market.
The hot pepper sauce industry plays a lot on these themes actually, with labels such as “Burn in Hell”, “Devil’s Drop”, “Armageddon Hot Sauce”, etc
aren’t there a few pipe tobaccos with names like that. Like Decans Downfall? BlueNote. A few others.
I bought a hot sauce called Devil’s Revenge one time…that stuff was just dominating. He won that round.
Hmm, Dave has a good point. Does anyone know how these things can be seen from culture to culture?
I’m sure Vikas knows the use of “666” as the mark of the beast, he is a very astute individual.
My personal opinion (being Episcopalian), it doesn’t offend me. However, if 6 Photo is going to use the mark of the beast as a play on words type thing, at least make the package neat with archaic insignia and such. My .02
Great even more snuff to order
bob- what’s the connotation of bluenote then? I always associated it with the famous jazz/blues club in NYC.
The bluenote was a note that was considered satanic at one point. Which is where the label got their name probably.
Awaiting # 700 the Heavenly snuff. Some folk believe in Santa Clause and the Easter bunny to each his own. I follow the Shamans path
My favourite hot sauce for stir fries is called Wet Fart. http://www.hotsauceworld.com/wetfarhotsau.html
@bob I thought that was the Brown Note http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown\\_note
bob- interesting! News to me.
@bob: you’re thinking of the Devil’s Interval. The blue note is a way of playing a note in jazz so that it’s slightly out-of-tune so as to express emotion.
nope the blue note has a pre jazz history.
@toffeenose super strong toast is NO JOKE! It’s like… D.White only as a toast. Mother of god… this snuff made me tear up a bit. It’s a nice toast though just snuff LIGHTLY! I can’t stress that enough.
@joesnuffer: I might have to try that when making my next purchase. Thanks!
Right back to inquisition times, there was a note sequence regarded as evil,as Debbie says.
when comparing it to DW, do you mean in strength, grind, or both?
@joesnuffer Slide hooked me up with some and it is ridiculously hard to snuff, however I get no flavor or smell whatsoever. Because of this, it has no redeeming qualities as far as Im concerned.
@JohnnyFriday See I get a definite toast scent after like… getting through all the pain. hahahaha
@Harlequin Definitely both.
@toffeenose Get a small tin(plastic) of it because you probably won’t use it too much after your nostrils go to war with your tear ducts.
The only way I can take Cheeta is rubbing it into my nostrils… there’s no way to take a pinch of it for me… it goes directly to my throat
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
I tried to make it more palatable by breathing slow hot breaths into the baggie for about 15 minutes, I figured it was ready as tjere was a sticky residue on the side o the baggie. So, what happened? I got more in my lungs than in my nose,
Dang, I didn’t Know Indian snuffs were so killer to sniff. I just ordered a big amount of the stuff and now i’m scared I won’t be able to enjoy it.
They vary greatly @gimpy1261. The 6photo for instance can be very moist and coarse with heavenly nag champa smells and a touch of menthol.
Dholakia and 6 photo arent very much alike at all.
Products I have never had so I guess my research on these might not have been as extensive as they should have been.
I love Dholakia Swiss Chocolate which reportedly has a Grunt Base, I also ordered Fubar Grunt, I guess I will find out when I get them.
I Love Himalaya so maybe with a little practice I will get some use from them.

Second Edit
I went back and looked on Mr. Snuff site about these They all look like something I just have to try.
With the exception of Cheetah, those are very easy snuffs to take.
@ JohnnyFriday
Thanks for the feedback. I just now remembered once upon a time a loong long long time ago I tried some Sparrow and it like to have kilt me.
@mr.snuff
THAAAAAAAAANKSSS!!! I didn’t even think that could work!!! Also I tried keeping a distance between my fingers and my nose and that helped too.
@gimpy1261 are you familiar with nag champa incense? Because that is kind of the general theme of those 6 photo snuffs.
@JohnnyFriday
I was wondering about that. First time I ever heard of it. I meant to look it up and forgot.
I adore Nag Champa, now if I could also find one that spells like Dragons Blood I’d be set!
I spell like drangons blood. I spell over there and over here. Oh wait you meant smell. Don’t worry it’s probably the most common mis-spelling on this list. I think it’s freudian and since we all think snuff is magical it comes out in our typeing.
though dragons blood is one of my favorite scents in the world.
I would buy a dragon’s blood snuff in a heartbeat.
Dear someone,
Make it happen.
Thanks,
Dogwalla
@Dogwalla I second that!
I can’t believe I over looked that. I really need to check my smelling before I post…
It happens. Though yeah dragons blood is amazing. I would snuff the heck out of that snuff. Though my favorite insence for a while was called Vatican it was your basic roman catholic scent with a ton of dragons Blood what an amazing scent. It’s what I imagine God smells like.
re: 6 photo, which one is the black snuff with the green cap? Can’t find the pic on Mr.snuff’s website, really like it!
It is Anarkali.Which tin have you got? small 8g or 45g square or round tin?
The 8g. I liked it right after first pinch!
The conversations on this thread is making me impatient for my order to arrive! I ordered the 45g six photo bundle (no cheeta) can’t wait for the incensey goodness to get up my schnoz!
Liking the (I think it’s the) Super Kalaish.
I want to really want to get Cheeta, Special and Natural. I think those are the ones I’m going to order when I finally can. I mean, the natural can’t be bad. You’d actually have to try really hard to mess up a natural snuff, IMO. Cheeta for the nic hit, and Special just because it sounds great. Is my logic sound or am I missing something?
Natural would be my recommendation
Is the Sun Snuff(s) company gone?
I just received 8g of both Kailash and Natural. Haven’t tried the natural yet, but am loving the Kailash. I have a tin of Cheeta sitting in my desk also, but I can’t bring myself to use it. I find the grind way to fine and the scent unpleasant. Just glad I decided to give them another try and not let my experience with Cheeta keep me away from them.
@Mr. O:
I think they are still in business but maybe they didn’t find the online market very profitable. Their marketing was less than enthusiastic.
Edit:
That is not the Indian manufacturer. I think that company sells snuffs made by Dholakia, they are based out of Switzerland.
I guess I’m thinking of the other one. The one who makes/made “Pari”, “Rasili”, and others I can’t remember. The one that Nicotine Rush was importing. Last time I checked on Mr. Snuff he only had some stock of one of thier blends. Hope the company isn’t kaput, but I’m not confident about that.
Dholakia TAJ- I highly recommed this for anyone else who is “India” crazy. Only, it is lacking some good nicotine, but that could be from my recent Cheeta binge. Perhaps some DW is in order, i find the white mixes much better into the Indian snuffs than with others.
Mr. O:
Yep, I knew which one you were talking about, I only linked the Swiss company so that someone wouldn’t get them confused.
I quite enjoy the Indian Sun snuffs, the flavors are very delicate and complex with the right amount of menthol mixed in, good stuff.
For anyone looking for a non-mentholated plain snuff, I would highly recommend Dholakia Sparrow Green. A natural snuff with an excellent base tobacco.
@cstokes4 I got them confused, thank you. I love my SHER and PARI and I just ordered the RASILI before it is too late.
Sher and Pari are great snuffs.
I like the Pari and Rasili, the only ones I’ve had. Would be nice to get me hands on more when I run out. I also like the 6 Photo’s so far, but to me this is apples to oranges.
What is Dragon blood?
It’s a name given to several herbs/plant material or the scent/oil/resin extracted from, them. I don’t know 100% of the specifics, but it’s a common incense fragrance. I think there may be a controversy about which plants should be called which name. I’ve only done a little research on this so far, and trying to find out which of the substances would be safe used in a snuff. Does anyone know much about this?
Is this the red crystal like substance? If it is it was sold as a scam/rip off drug at one time, called something like ‘dragon blood opium’ or similar. Obviously a legitimate incense, but I can vaguely remember it from before I retired from the police. It is inert as a psychoactive although I don’t know if prolonged ingestion would be harmful.
I believe it’s only been considered an incense, or perhaps an antiseptic/antibiotic etc. from hundreds if not thousands of years ago. But I cannot back up my memory with any good documentation at the moment. There are some legal subtsances that I’ve read about, considered to be like a mild opium though, but I’ve never heard of dragon’s blood being used in such a way. I’d probably classify it as a simalar use as frankinscense, myrrh, or copal resin. Burned as incense, perhaps used in rituals.
Dragon’s Blood Incense was what I was familiar with.
Here’s a link to a Wikipedia article.
Most opium that is sold in America is people selling dragons blood. Which is really stupid for many many reasons. Especialy since it’s a fine fine as what it actualy does which is smell great. My second apartment still reaked of dragons blood five years later (you could smell it out on the street).
Geez, at least it’s a good smell! I’ve never attempted to buy opium so, dodged a bullet or two maybe… Does anyone know if opium smells like the “opium” incense that’s widely available? Just curious.
Kalaish smells exactly like Nag Champa blue box to me. I love this scent. This would be a great snuff for bedtime or meditation. I will be getting more of this in larger quantities.
Super Strong Toast is indeed a killer. I find it harder to partake then WE or Dholakia White, but the vitamin N… Hot damn!!
I know this is an old thread, but does anyone know if the Sun snuffs are available anywhere online these days? I’ve looked around, but have not found it anywhere. And I notice all the comments about this brand are a few years old… just curious.
What a coincidence. Recently I spoke about this company with a fellow snufftaker, and we were curious what happend to this company. As far that I know they change occupation and now are: http://www.indiamart.com/sun-chemicals/
@Pincher what is the difference between that and super Kalish? I love Nag Champa so this excites me. I had a sample of Super Kalish one time from Mr. Snuff and wasn’t fond of it.

I don’t know yet. I’ve only had the Kalaish. I have not had the super yet. The Kalaish smells exactly like Nag Champa with an added scent of herbs and a very slight menthol. It’s good, I use it at night to relax and go to sleep with.
