@Vathek Thank you for the useful info and patience. I also see some improvements in the way I feel and function since I’ve laid down the ciggs and the quitting process so far has been a “pain-free” one due to Snuff. I’m just a bit worried what will I do if the local tobacco store runs out, I’ll probably need to keep an eye on their stock and make a online order before they run dry. @AllanH Yes, same here, I guess I haven’t been doing it for so long to notice it myself but that isn’t necesarly a good thing you know…
In the last couple of days, I haven’t denied myself any cigarettes. On the other hand, I haven’t had any in my possession. There’s a fully stocked shop just below my apartment, but I haven’t felt like going in and buying a pack. Instead snuff has kept me content. My wallet thanks me.
@slartie Your health will thank you too, be sure of that.
Here, here @Vathek! Stefan
My son’s favorite song back in the 90s, From the album tubthumper. Sorry about the side track. I used silver creek Dip to quit smoking in 79, was working as a Night Kicthen Manager and couldn’t smoke in the kitchen. from there went to skoal, then Copehagon then to red seal dip. About a year ago quit dipping and changed to snuff and snus. I’ll dip red seal every now and again, but not to the point where my lip get’s rubbed raw. edm
Cigarettes what a waste, started 40 years ago to hide the smell of the other smoke,Quit for 3 years and the obsession never left. Been a rolling buy hand for over a decade mostly drum and bali halfzware shag.Taxes tripling the price decided to quit once again.Tried herbal method mullion, coltsfoot and lobelia in roll your own form and it smelled like weed it brought about undesired attention. Then I came across snuff on the web!!! not available at any shop in my neck of the sticks. I still enjoy smoking cigarettes but I don’t need to smoke. A pack of Nat Sherman Havana ovals last over two weeks. And I been smoking some fine pipe backy just for pleasure;I like aromatic’s but mostly smoke the stronger flake ,twist and plugs I can get and of course I mix my own blends with extra latakia, perique and turkish to find that perfect balance. Now I spend funds on collecting finer pipes and hording tins of backy. I mix my favorite snuffs too in similar fashion like Taxi red with Dholakia swiss chocolate yummy. Best of luck hope you find your balance.
I have already saved the money by stuffing my own cigarettes. It’s now costing me around $5-$10 a week to smoke pretty much however many cigarettes I want. I’d like to quit though. My wife and I promised each other we’d quit when I turn 40, which is in just over four years. I’m going to take the coward’s way out and just switch from cigarettes to snuff I might even make the switch considerably sooner, but first I have a couple of stumbling blocks to overcome: Firstly, I want to secure a supply of snuff here in the States. I’m actually from England, so getting it from overseas should be no problem for me, as I can get a family member to send it to me if all else fails. However, I just can’t get away from the fact that I will be relying on getting my vitamin N from another country. I buy my cigarette supplies online, but if the worst comes to the worst, I can pop to the store and buy a pack. This may not seem too much of a problem now, but what about in 10, 20, 30, 40, or even 50 years? Hell, if I’m a non smoker, I may even need snuff in 60 or 70 years! I’m looking into making my own snuff so that buying online becomes a treat not a necessity. The second point is that I have a terrible cold and I just tried snuffing with disasterous results. I’ve read on here that a lot of people like menthol snuffs when they have a cold, but mine is so bad that my nose is dripping like a tap, and snuffing is horrible. Once I overcome the problem of how to get nicotine into my system when I have a cold, I’ll be all set…
Best of luck on your mission to give up those cancer sticks, I’m trying to use snuff to cut down on cigs too. Although that might take a while, since I’m usually a 20 a day man, but today I’ve cut down to six so far. You’ll make it!
So far it’s working really well. I’m slowly starting to understand the 200g per month users. I’m psyched about it really. Cigarettes are fairly one-sided when it comes to flavor. Sure there are a variety of flavors within the realm of cigarettes, but it’s nothing compared to pipe tobacco and indeed snuff.
I started at 15 - 20 cigs per day, but I’m already down to 3 - 6. I just find myself craving the whole snuff experience, not just the nicotine. Apparently my technique is doing well. After my tweak yesterday I can now take my Toque Natural Toast and keep it all in the nose. It seems when you do it right you get a monster of a nic hit too. Some Toque Original almost laid me on the floor this morning.
doctor beat you’re not going to make it too 106 not while advocating music as the best medicine for everything. j.k. of course
@doctorbeat Ummm coward’s way out??? I know PLENTY of smokers that are too scared to take any snuff. Wimps. OH, and when you’re sick or clogged- take menthol snuff. Clears me up INSTANTLY…
