They all seemed the same to me, when I 1st did it. I recently deleted a little notepad thingy I made, giving my 1st impressions of snus, when I 1st got them, and they were all rather bad. Little bags of salt, is what they all seemed to me. Now it’s been almost a year, and I don’t even get much salt taste now, if at all, and I can even identify certain snus without knowing what they are beforehand. Of course, snus may just not appeal to some people. But if one is really interested, I think one needs at least a full month of regular use(4-8 a day), to come to a conclusion. And sometimes more than one try. I discovered snus about the same time I discovered snuff, and I was not taking to snus at 1st, and even quit it, then later I retried it. Now I like it, use about 4 portions a day. I tried dip recently, and emptied about 10 cans, but found I did not like the small loose cut, but I think I gave it good try, that did lead me to try loose leaf chew though, and I do like that.
I was 3-4 months into my discovery of snuff when you guys here got me curious enough about snus to give it a go. Now, it is much less multi-faceted than snuff, for sure, but I did like it from the very first one. I decided to pursue it because snuff had mitigated my smoking to negligable quantites, without me even trying (or wanting) to cut down, and I was curious if snus would eliminate it. It more or less did, but I found snus is probably the most addictive of all forms of tobacco. It requires almost no work to get the nicotine, and when it gives, it gives a steady supply. Everyday, I must resist it, in order to enjoy my snuff. I’m sure that made sense to no one but me… oh well. You will find what works for you… nothing wrong with trying new things.
I snus and snuff at the same time. I have lost all urge to smoke, even in situations where I’d normally(used to) cave.
I hated snus too when I first tried it. I threw the contents of my first can away. I just didn’t ‘‘get it’,’ if you see what I mean. After giving up snuff I looked around for an alternative method for delivering my nicotine. First I tried twist tobacco but found the spitting unpleasant and antisocial so I thought I’d give snus another go. It took a couple of weeks to get used to the saltiness of the stuff but once I’d gotten acclimitised to it, I didn’t look back. I think now I like snus more than I did snuff, if that’s not too heretical to say on a snuff forum!
Every time I take a snus; I feel like a hamster running for a big nicotine drip bottle, squeee-squeeeeeeee…must maintain nic levels, squeee…
I still really don’t like it… I will make a list from what I have… maybe soembody is willing to trade against some snuff ? American snuff etc, stuff I can’t get here ? Whisper me if interested. Thanks! Skruf Stark - opend, in freezer, tried a few ( 1-2) Montecristo - opend, in freezer, tried a few ( 1-2) General Ekstra Sterk - 1 opend, tried a few - 1 still closed. General Maxi - opend, tried 1/2, now in freezer Grovsnus Portion - opend, tried a few, now in freezer General Wintergreen - opend, tried a few, now in freezer
I did the same thing. Didn’t like it, traded off my stash for snuff. Then a few month later I tried it again, and that time it stuck. You should be able to trade these, I’d think.
I would say those were bad choices to start with, so I’m not surprsed. I’m no snus expert though. Some folks like those thoough.
I do agree that a different set may have appealed more. You got a lot of starks and bold flavors. For a total snus newbie, I’d reccomend General Mint, Offroad Original, maybe Oden’s Classic Kanel, Phantom Brown. Not so much to push flavors, but low salt, and some flavors. Often people start with flavors, and once they get used to snus, then they seem to morph into the more bold tobacco types. Personally, I like most of what you have, though my faves are Thunder OP, Offroad OP, Phantom Brown OP. Though I don’t plan to get any more starks once mine are used up. I don’t feel a need for it.
mmmmm…OffRoad Coffe/Vanilla snus.
ok ,ok , OK. I will try them some more, and keep 'm. F**k it!
It just may not be your thing. And that’s fine too.
Roda Lacket WP . @ Micheltn: This is a good beginner SNUS. Mild tobacco, Small amount of Fruit flavor.
I’ve tried most all of them and narrowed 'em down to Göteborgs Rapé No. 2 and Röda Lacket. Ordered a roll of each; I’ll be set for at least 4 months…
