Today was a good day, so I feel the need to share. As some of you know I have been trying since May to get an account set up with Gawith Hoggarth. Finally, today, a rep came and visited the warehouse. he was duly impressed by the selection and quantity of snuff and we now have an account set up. This means I have access to all their snuffs, pipe tobaccos, twist, hand-rolling tobacco, hookah tobacco, and a bunch of accessories. Obviously I’ll be ordering all the snuffs, but if there is anything special any of you would like, let me know. Thanks Dave
25 gram tubs. You made my day. Now I’am happy that I have money setbacks that make it so I have to wait a little bit to make my next order.
25g tubs only… please please please please please please!
Tap boxes please, don’t bother with the 25g tubs. Just kidding obviously, tubs, tubs, tubs!
TUBS, TUBS, TUBS, PLEASE!!! The hell with those shity tapboxes!!
I doubt that I will ever purchase any Gawith Hoggarth, therefore, It doesn’t matter much to me…but I must support the group. Tubs! Tubs! Nothing but Tubs please!
lol…25 grammers only…you got it. Does anybody know about CM (camphor menthol) listed on their website? Is it decent?
I like it. Doubt if many would like it as much as O&G. I think it’s got a bit more of a menthol blast than SM Blue, but way less camphor. Seems to me anyway. I use it once or twice daily, usually.
CM is good! But it is only worth a pinch from a tub. It is also one of GH’s best sellers.
maybe top seller.
it’s a great snuff. Seriously it’s the best snuff in the world for covering nasty odors. It’s the one I used for grease traps.
mmm i’m going to have to try some GH tubes … the kendal brown i got last time was in a tap box and very dry with the consistency of gravel , smelling like an old greasy diesel greyhound bus at 6am in a winter morning in a bumfuck-nowhere station; and that’s my honest review of GH kendal brown in a tapbox… rehydrating the stuff was better but still …
The CM in tapboxes stays pretty potent too. Loses a little of the blast over time, but then it’s good in a different way. And CM is one I like to carry in a shirtpocket, so the tapbox is good for that. I believe it’s a pretty dry one to begin with. It was a really good one for recent whole day stressful waiting at hospital.
Congrats David. G&H does make some food snuffs and some darn good pipe tobaccos, their ropes are quite good for chewing and smoking.
CM is one of my favorite menthols, the only problem is I only have it in a tapbox and it was bone dry when I got it, and GH is my favorite pipe tobacco house, they make the best ropes and Lakeland blends and some damn good strong blends IMHO.
Hopefully getting fresh from the factory will make a difference. There was only ever one importer in the US till PACT and my understanding was he kept his stock rather longer than he should have.
You can’t send them back and get some compensation can you?
GawithHoggart has a good range of twists and they’re excellent.
I never actually bought any in the US. I have none to send back. Their reputation was too poor so I didn’t want to risk it.
CM is not a favorite of mine, but the difference between the sneeze-box and mini-tub was remarkable, as I had both. Imperitive to stock Kendal Brown (both plain and scented) since when fresh they are as good, and debatably better than their SG counterparts. Some of my other favorites are Sea Breezes (herbal scented), Lakeland (floral), Western Glory (floral), Wallflower, M4X (light menthol/hebal scent), Irish D (toast). I like most of the rest I have tried, but still not had them all. Spartan, Jasmin, Sandalwood, and Eucalyptus were not impressive to me, though I think some will like them. There are only 31 blends in the range, so its not like trying to stock the whole SG or WoS ranges. GH have a lot of floral mixtures, which do have limited appeal.
