Gawith Hogarth Camphor Menthol

I just tried this for the first time, and was very impressed with it. For once, the camphor and menthol seem in perfect balance, and neither overwhelm the distinctive (for me) Gawith Hogarth base, which seems a little stronger in flavor and slightly coarser than some of the better known brands. Even the tap boxes are less evil than most, with the plug on the side like Poschl’s, rather than those horrible slide dispensers on the bottom. Highly recommended to someone who likes an appreciable dose of camphor along with their menthol, and a reminder that they’re inhaling tobacco into their nose, as opposed simply to menthol chrystals. This is definitely in my top five medicated snuffs. Plus, it’s relatively cheap at $2.19 for 10 grams, and as I said, I find the containers both functional and classy with their faux brass name plates. I’ll definitely be ordering more Gawith Hogarth; I have no idea why they tend to be overlooked. Their Kendal Brown seems outstanding also, although its finer grind than the SG might offend some purists.

I agree the CM is one of the best menthol snuffs out there. Just ordered a 25g tub from My Smoking Shop at £2.09. Much cheaper than O&G.

CM is the snuff my dad uses all the time. He goes through a couple of the 10g boxes a week as well as other snuffs. Fortunately it can found locally or I’d be buying it in bulk for him.

And that shop has it fresh. The give-a-way is the new containers with the plastic tear of seal opening. One of my favourite snuffs too.

Not only do I love this snuff. It’s my grease trap cleaning snuff!!! If something smells terrible and vomit inducing this snuff will cover it up for sure.
