first try with a snuff spoon

@howdydave I dunno, it’s growing on me. I’ve had a few spoonfuls at work today and enjoyed it quite a bit. A nice change from pinching or snuffing off the back of my hand.

I wouldn’t say it’s that undignified, especially considering other alternatives such as tubes. I still prefer to pinch over any other method, however I did try the aptly named ‘plugging’ method found on the forum with great success but just found it a little messy. I have decided to give the spoon another try tomorrow now!

I have been using my pipe knife today. I like it a lot. pinching is not as easy. With the knife I get the exact amount and I am not losing any on the floor. Pinching is messy but hey I am a rookie.

@J_S I’m neither a rookie nor an expert, but I’m not wild about pinching if I can avoid it. There’s a lot to be said for alternative methods.

I have that spoon, it’s huge! I use it for transfering snuffs to others containers.

@SnuffSniffer Maybe I should get one ,I like huge amounts

@basement_shamen Here’s a shot for size comparison…

@SnuffSniffer Thanks, fine dry snuffs can’t get a large enough mound with the Stainless steel one, so I mostly boxcar them. I don’t think I need to a dedicated spoon. My consumption is already out of bounds.

There used to be a link on here somewhere for a website that sold sterling silver salt spoons but now I can’t find it. I think @bob posted it and there was some really nice ones and they were moderately priced.

it was called looking in the attic and their spoons are nice…

I rarely use a snuff spoon straight to my nose. Normally I use them to scoop from the tin and then dump it on the back of my hand then pinch it. The only one I use in the normal fashion is the little ones that come with the PC Tripletechs, they are a perfect size for a single sniff.

I’ve pinched and I’ve used the back of my hand, but there is something about using a spoon that I just like better, personally.  This pipe nail from Brebbia cost $1 at my local tobacco store.  I carries well in my pocket, and with a little practice I’ve gotten fairly fast at loading the spoon with just the right amount of dry snuff.
