I always take a pinch, often a very large one, but tonight I tried sniffing straight from a small spoon, and for some reason it was a burst of snuffiness which made me wince(in a good way). I wonder why it had that effect, if it’s the same amount or even less than my usual pinches. Maybe when I pinch, the snuff stays in my nostrills and gradually works it’s way up while by spoon it’s just loose and flies straight up right away? What do you think? Who else sniffs by spoon? I may walk into a drug paraphanalia shop and buy a tiny spoon ussually sold for nefarious purposes tomorrow because I liked this snuff experience so much.
I don’t think you need to go to a drug paraphernalia shop - most tobacconists carry pipe tools like this, with a nice, smallish, spoon that looks exactly as if it had been created with snuff in mind (which might not be too far from the truth, actually).
I often use a “nefarious” spoon that you speak of. It is very different than pinching and 2 things come to mind. 1) Temperature: your snuff will be much warmer(and possibly more moist) when pinched. 2) Technique: No matter how carefully you sniff, a spoon, by it’s very open nature will cause a swirling effect. I could add to this if I were an engineer.
A Czech pipe tool is what I use to snuff 99% of the time. Definitely my favored method.
I generally use a Czech pipe tool also, when I want to use the spoon method. Not quite as much control as pinching, but the spoon helps in directing the snuff to the front of the nostril.

When I feel like sniffing like that, I use the ghetto method: The handy-dandy pen cap.
I use a pipe nail. Cheap and effective.
Just be careful in the mornings when you are groggy you must remember the cereal goes to the mouth.
I have a small baby spoon that’s metal, it works OK for me.
salt spoon. That is my spoon of choice. Cayanee spoons work well too.

Some of our older inmates will remember the little spoon/screwdriver “toolkids” with the brass handles which we bought on ebay. I’ve never really used mine, up till now. I’ve received 10 GH samples packed in “Ezy Dose” plastic pill pouches from my friend Xander.This little spoon is perfect for snuffing from the pouches. So thank you Matero for reminding me that I’ve got this tool!

Grapefruit spoons are tapered so, as big as a teaspoon but I just found the way for the taper to “work for me.” Is Daiso anywhere else in the country? It’s like a Japanese dollar store but everything’s $1.50 unless marked otherwise. I could get lost in there for a couple hours. Found some bamboo containers that look just like the American tubs, coffee spoons (smallish), condiment spoons, and the grapefruit spoons.
One thing I like about using a spoon, is less waste. Whenever I pinch, I waste a good amount which sticks to the fingers, or just falls on my shirt. I remember a youtube vid I saw once, of a guy showing how he snuffs Bruton from a czech tool, he stacked it high, and sniffed two heaping piles, easy as pie. I thought it was a trick video, he just snarked it up, no reaction. Some time after seeing that, I tried a similar feat, but with much less snuff, with some Dholakia White (I always waste a lot of this when I pinch. It is so fine, it is hard to grab a pinch without burying the fingers, and they get coated with snuff, most of which gets wasted. ), and it was quite an experience! I’ve been spooning more and more, but only at my desk at work, or in front of my snuff cabinet.
Yeah spoon is something for sitting down the pinch is for walking.
I agree a spoon is the best way to do snuff imo, pinches are too messy and wasteful its sticks to your fingers so not only do you waste the snuff on your fingers you also have to clean it off or else you’ll have brown fingers all day.
