For those of you who like energy snuff, Wilson’s has, at our behest finally released a guarana based energy snuff. It is called Sunset and you can see it hereif you are interested. We are hoping it will give Akuz a run for there money! It is kind of buried in the site right now, but we are working on that! We are also working on a few more flavors. thanks Dave
My buddy really loved the Wilsons White Snuff, and when I showed him the Akuz, he was all excited. He’s all into energy drinks. So my next order I’ll get this and the Akuz for him.
It looks like my wilson’s white snuff found a good home!
Yes, it did.
Red Bull recently had to remove an ‘energy drink’ from the European market because it was found that it had traces of cocaine in it’s ingredients.
Yes, Red Bull Cola. It was damn tasty. I haven’t been able to find it around here for a while. It was the best tasting Cola I’ve ever had. All natural, made with real Kola nuts.
I heard the “cocaine” was natural byproduct of the procedure and did not really do anything.
It is extracted from the coca leaf. Coca is an ingredient in most “Colas”. During the process, 99.9% of the toxin is removed from the extract. The level was so low that it would not/could not do anything. There is probably more cocaine in our drinking water.
Yeah, cocaine is the active ingrediant in coca just as caffene is in coffee and theanine is in tea. You can actually get natural coca leaf legally, and it has trace amounts of cocaine in it (duh). Of course you lose all the healthy parts of these plants if you distill them down to just the bits that gives you a kick. Coca-Cola once had quite a bit of natural coca in it, later they made an effort to remove all narcotic traces from the cola. Apparantly that wasn’t enough for some uptight folks, so now there is not any coca used at all. All artifical crap now.
I thought that Coca-Cola still used Coca extract?
Well, I read something recently in this respect. I just dug around. All I could find was the Wikipedia enty on New Coke, which had no coca at all. The entry for Coca-Cola says: After 1904, instead of using fresh leaves, Coca-Cola started using “spent” leaves—the leftovers of the cocaine-extraction process with cocaine trace levels left over at a molecular level.[29] To this day, Coca-Cola uses as an ingredient a cocaine-free coca leaf extract prepared at a Stepan Company plant in Maywood, New Jersey.
Actually, from what I understand, they use what’s called “decocanized” coca leaves. It’s basically a fancy way of saying they’ve either bred out all the coca producing trait or removed all the coca from it, kind of like industrial hemp in the US is bred to have levels of THC so low that you’d make your throat bleed from smoking it long before it got you high. Pretty sure they do the breeding option, since it seems like if they extracted all the coke, they’d have to do it prior to importing the leaves, and then dispose of it all.
According to that wikipedia entry Stepan Company legally imports raw coca from Peru and Bolivia. They are the only company entitled to do so. They extract the cocaine for medicinal use. Link
Dave, did Wilsons make this just for Mr Snuff?
Hi Snuffster: yes and no. I have been going on about it for ages. Apparently there is someone in Poland interested too and I think that was the tipping point. We are working on a bunch of flavors and different packaging. Should be fun for the right crowd.
