"Dry " Molens de Kralingse

Good morning Guys! I have about 10 different Molens de Kralingse snuffs - these are also the snuffs I have the longest in my possession. Some of them are 25Gr packages - And I wonder If I every empty them… My question is ( Maybe for Jaap ) : They are pretty dry - should they be taken this way ? Because I had 2 samples from Jaap, which were really wet. Just wondering If I should add a few drop s of water to them … ?

Do a search on rehydrating or bringing new life to snuff, or rejuvenating snuff or some such. There are techniques to doing this, and yes, they are better moist. The DeK snuffs to tend to dry out fast if not kept airtight.

Thanks Xander. The problem indeed is that the Molens plastic snuff containers are NOT airtight at all…

They work well for their intended purpose, which presumes you buy the snuff fresh and use it within a few days. For those of us with larger snuff collections, maintaining freshness in multiple containers is a challenge. With those, if I don’t intend to use them for awhile, I seal up their seams with electrical tape, or decant them into airtight containers. Once I have finished them, I will just order my favorites in bulk from Jaap.

We are trying to overcome the problem a little by sealing the top and bottom part of the boxes with adhesive tape. Jaap Bes.

Other than that little dryness problem, the DK containers are some of my favorites, in terms of uniqueness. When I get my next shipment of DK in, I’ve already got new, airtight amber glass jars waiting. The only moist DK snuff that I have ever tried was the musino, I’ve just used the others as they were sent to me, dry as a bone!
