I thought you might be interested to know that with the help of the UK manufacturer Cig-star we are doing a serious special on Cig-star e-cigarettes. You can get a starter kit for 50% off regular price. It’s an awesome deal, and to my knowledge you can’t get them cheaper anywhere. I did a quick google and could only find wholesale rates anywhere close (ie you have to buy 100 kits). These kits ship direct from the UK (not from our warehouse in NY) so there will be an extra couple of days shipping. If you are interested click here Dave
That looks like the model M401. You can actually get the same model under a different brand (only difference is the paint job) for close to the same price. Still, it looks to be a fair price for this device. If I wasn’t already set for the next 3 years, I’d probably consider it
Though not e-cig related, I just made a purchase anyway. I couldn’t resist a snuffbox keychain.
Dave, had I not just taken my wife shopping this weekend, I’d buy one of those e-cig kits. Soon, I probably will pick one up. Never know when you want to switch up the delivery method, you know? @satyr I looked but didn’t see any snuffbox keychains. Link? I have a few that were sold in a military surplus store as pill holders for a keychain, but would like to see snuffbox keychains…
Snuffbox keychains here: PlainLove Tobacco LeavesThere aren’t too many left (just so you know!). But when they sell out we will order more, have no fear. Dave
A quick update for you on the cigstar: they are the only e-cigarette sold directly by amazon in the UK. That inspires some confidence (in me at least). Dave
can we get an e-snuff bullet? something that atomizes scented nicotine into your nose? I bet that would sell well with kids!!
Dave, What flavor and strength do you recommend for someone who smokes Winston Lights?
@cstokes4: that’s a good question. I would imagine that you smoke lights a medium or mild would be the choice. However the kit comes with 6 capsules in different strengths to get you started, all in plain tobacco flavor I believe. After you try them I am sure you’ll pretty quickly settle on a preference. Having said that, the whole ‘light’ thing is mired in controversy. Supposedly when you look at a person’s smoking habits, the strength of the nicotine is largely irrelevant . A person will suck on a cigarette (or snuff their snuff) until they satisfy their personal, genetically predisposed (related to tolerance which is controlled at the genetic level) proportions of blood-nicotine. The first few puffs of a strong cigarette are inhaled deeply, this takes care of the bulk of the nic requirement; after that the depth of the breaths become shallower and shallower until the last few puffs are barely breathed into the lungs at all. Now if you smoke a 'lighter’cigarette you need more deep breathes to obtain the same nicotine. The deep breaths are the most harmful because in normal breathing the bottom 1/3 of the lungs are not used. So any toxins, tar etc sits there for a long time (as an interesting side note, that is why cops will make you breath into a Breathalyzer until you are emptying out this bottom third into the tube - so how to beat a Breathalyzer?.. hyperventilate while you are waiting for the cop; that puts clean, non-alcoholic, air into that critical bottom third!). The result of light cigarettes is that you are actually doing your lungs MORE harm not less, since it is not the nicotine that is doing the harm, but rather all the other products produced by combustion. Lights were absolutely brilliant for cigarette company profits since in order to obtain the same level of nicotine (which is what it is ALL about after all) smokers had to smoke more. Don’t quote me on any this, I might not remember exactly (and don’t blame me if you get a DUI…I have never personally put this idea to the test). But it is food for thought. Dave_Edit: typo_
I know my uncle would smoke these ultra lights, and I’d cut the filter 3/4ths off when I smoked them.
@cstokes4: The carts for all e-cigs are refillable. I’d suggest doing a google search for “e-liquid” or “e-juice” and find a site that offers a sampler pack. You will not find an exact match to your brand of smoke because you aren’t burning tobacco with e-cigs. As far as strengths, try a few different levels. I have mostly 36mg liquid and some 24. There are also plenty of non-tobacco flavors that are nice on occasion. One of my favorite tobacco flavors is called “555” or “Interstate/highway 555”. It’s smooth, mellow, and has a touch of vanilla with a slight nutty flavor to it.
Thanks, Satyr. It’s not for me but my Mom. Trying to get her off the damn cigs.
