Ok, so far every scotch has its champions except for poor old Ralph’s and Standard. Sitting there on the shelf. Neglected. Trying their best to please. Time to cover the sweets in a new thread.
Levi Garrett, Dental Mild and Toque Natural Toast Plus a lot of others
Railroad Mills Plain is my favorite everyday snuff period, although I do like to use a wide variety of scotches.
Favs are Bruton and Rooster for the scotches and Buttercup for sweet. Buttercup is nice and sweet and has a bit of cocoa too.
For a plain, my favourite is Ralph’s. For me, it has the best level of smokiness and mesquite scents out of all the scotches. As far as sweets go, RR Mills Sweet is my go to. I find the other sweets far too sweet.
Bruton is my all day, every day because I hate myself I guess. Railroad Mills Maccoboy is my go-to atypical. It might have more nicotine than the Brute but what do I know?
Finally Ralph’s has a champion! Quick, the smelling salts, He can go another round after all
yep. poor standard. maybe I’ll have to develop more of a taste for it.
My first American ever was Society. I now use Tops, Standard, Starr, Bruton and Devoe for my sweet, but every once in a while I hit the Society. Just thought I’d bring that one up since I rarely see it mentioned.
What about the Peach, Cherry and Strawberry ones ?? Anyone who heavily use them ?
I’d classify them as sweets, which has its own thread. I use Peach quite a bit, but not nasally.
Yimes is back from the dead!
I use peach alot. I usually throw a dip in and then take a pinch in each nostril. Satisfys my lust for nicotine and tastes damn good too.
I like Bruton on occasion to ‘wake me up’ late in the day I really enjoy Honey Bee I have a tin of Red Seal Sweet but it’s just collecting dust right now
I have 12 cans of American snuff, but only four of them are Navy Plain, and I use one a month so I ordered two more from Mr Snuff.
I really love Railroad Mills Plain. The pure tobacco aroma is sweet, fresh and bright, reminicent of new-mown hay or fresh-cut grass. I like to use it exclusively for a week or two, then switch to one of the nice smokey Scotches like Superior (another underdog favorite of mine). Then, when I go back to the Mills after a week away, it’s like comming home again.
