Bulk Snuff For Christmas

I tried making a proper Christmas order last night from Wilsons of Sharrow but all those usual online shopping problems like forgetting the verification code confused me, so I just renewed one of my old orders, which is handy function to have. Might do an other order, there’s still time.

I don’t think I’ll bother with a Christmas Order.  The post around here seems to be collasping under the immense strain.   :-S

Notice The Black Swan Shoppe have the 25g tins of SG High Mill as well as a new range of other SG snuffs in the 25g tins. I think a trip into town is in order!

I’m intrigued:

I think I’ll give them both a shot.

@Talljim I’m intrigued too.  Too bad they won’t ship to USA anymore.  I love the description; it seems the phrase “sneeze box” is catching on.  Good job @Snuffhead.

that stuff does sound good.

I’m popping in to get a tin of each on wednesday, so I’ll report back…

@Xander fame at last!

@Xander I agree.  I wish they still did too.  There are some snuffs on the website that I would love to try.

Maybe Talljim could make a side business shipping to the States, to all his ‘friends’! Do you have a paypal account @Talljim? Just kidding, but not really… We need some help over here on this side of the pond.

@Talljim I may be in a better position, in a few days time. To tell the difference to see if the J&H Wilsons Top Mill No.1 are very similar as the Sam Gawith, as I just opened a vacuum tin of J&H Top Mill No.1  All you will find is the little blue tins of dry snuff.

I intend to order S G from Black Swan later today.

Well, I have the SP No 1 (top mill no1 substitute) from the Black Swan Shoppe, both before me and up my nose. All I can say, is that if you want something that smells the same as J&H Wilsons Top Mill, you won’t find it here. What you do have is a wonderful plain SP with a medium moist, medium grind. The first smell that hits you is that wonderful leathery tobacco scent that SG do so well, there’s definitely some citrus, but mainly as a subtle back note. As it’s vacuum packed, it’s much moister than top mill, and much easier to take. If you like SPs I’m sure you’ll find this a winner, they’re not my favourites, but I could certainly see this one becoming a firm favourite with me, as I’m more a fan of the leathery, earthy, naturally tobacco scented snuffs. This is just a first impression from a couple of sniffs, so I’ll report back when I’ve had a bit more.

I have a 25g tin of J&H
Wilson Top Mill No1 so I can draw some comparisons with Sam Gawith SP No1. It’s
the same colour and texture and very similar in taste. Maybe not as strong in
the bergamot as the Top Mill No1, but then I’ve had a Tonka bean in the tin for
some time to keep it fresh. Well done Kris for getting Bob of Sam Gawith to come up with
substitute. Not true the same, very near. But I feel it fills the hole.

Nose hole?
