On Virgina: this tobacco has a slight sweetness to it and a distinct flavor, which is quite pleasant. Kralingse (either Musino or Mettaijer-can’t remember which) has a distinct Virgina taste to it. Wilsons has stated in past documents that Gold Label is the same flavoring applied to Virgina tobacco as Best SP is appled to Zimbabwe tobacco. So basically it is Best SP but with a different tobacco as a base. RE: Santo Domingo: http://www.sheffieldexchange.com/nasal.htm is a published list, presumably from a past Wilson’s document indcating what flavorings and tobacco types are in varous snuffs. The Sandalwood is certainly there if you look for it, though not pronounced.
@Xander: Both Musino and Mettaijer are Virginia (flue cured) based as are our other snuffs exept voor the Latakia Ao 1860, Oranjesnuif, Pepermunt and A/P snuif. These last ones are based on Virginia and dark fire cured tobacco’s. Jaap Bes.
@Xander Thanks for that link. Cool.
Yes, Jaap. The flavor is indeed distinct in all of your Virgina based snuffs. However, in one of them the scent is very pronounced. Now snufing Mettaijer, and this is the one. Perhaps the vinegar in it really accentuates the flavor of the Virginia?
I opened up the pack of Gekachelter in front of my sponsor and he said “your going to snort something that smells like cow shit?!” But to a snuffer I think it smells more like a high quality natural tobacco. It does have a light citrusy sweetness that just perfectly matches the heavy earthy tobacco flavour.
@ Xander: could well be or maybe the valerian extract play some role. Jaap Bes.
I’d love to sample this one.
@SCasey: Give me an address at info@snuifmolens.nl and I’ll see what I can do. Jaap Bes.
@snuffmiller Sent. Thanks.
does the valerian in the snuff put you to sleep? I LOVE virginia tobacco…
@transistor: I’ve had no messages about such a side effect. Jaap Bes.
Cause you can’t write when you’re asleep. Duh. Either that or no one has had that effect. I noticed lavander has that effect on me.
Lavender and hops are both well known as sleep aids. I’ve read that people once made pillows filled with hops and I have some lavender balm that you rub on the temples to aid with relaxation. I don’t know if the balm works that well but it sure makes a good way to flirt with girls, they can’t resist having their temples massaged with it. Its called Badger Sleep Balm and no bachelor should be without it.
here in Germany you can buy “Baldrian” pills which consist of hops, baldrian and some third stuff i dont remember, it is a natural sleep aid and working fairly good --you just have to find your ammount of pills you need. by the way, a snuff with the effect of a sleep aid would be A W E S O M E … @Roderick and @snuffmiller please look into it ^^
