Best Flavor (i.e. Dark, strong, pronounced tobacco taste) and Strongest Nic Hit Combo Snuffs..

Which ones are they in everyone’s opinion? So far for me, F&T Santo Domingo offers the best of these worlds. I’m looking for more of these type of snuffs. While Santo Domingo Is lightly seasoned with essential oils of various types, it still has a strong and predominant tobacco taste which I love. I am looking for more variations on this same theme and I would like your suggestions. So, please suggest a few that would fit this category so I can add the ones I haven’t tried to my list for ordering. Thanks.

For dark, pronounced tobacco taste, I have found Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Brown and Bernard Gekachelter Virginie to be excellent. I have many others along these lines to sample but these two are quite nice. No flavorings, just dark tobacco.

Sam Gawith’s Scotch Black

Ask petersuki He uses Odin’s extreme snus nasaly. I’ve been using it as a mixer in schmalzlers. edm

I ordered my first Scmaltzer 5 days ago and am eagerly awaiting it in the mail–Poschl’s Doppel Aroma D. I know not to expect anything of what I’m asking above as Schmaltzers are in a class by themselves, but I am eager to see wha.t it’s like. Thanks for the info. @Mark W I have Gawith’s Scotch Black and I like it, but it’s a little dry. I think I need to re-hydrate it in order to appreciate it more. The flavors seem pretty subdued unlike F&T’s Santo Domingo where the flavor is like “raising up to be slapped by yo mama”–if you know what I mean! (That’s a little slang there. I hope it comes across right. ) I like the fresh moistness of Santo Domingo. To me, that’s hard to rag on unless ‘dry’ is what you’re after…and…I’m not. I should’ve added medium to extra moist (relatively,…not gooey) to the specifics. Anything ‘else’ come to mind? Let me know… Thanks.

From what Ive read dholakia black seems to fit this category, however I have never had it before. Gekachelter Virginie has the best tobacco flavour around but the nicotine is medium.

The Kendal Brown I recieved was quite moist upon arrival. I just tried some Camel snus robust flavor in my nose due to Mustangii’s comment above and it is pretty good too. Quite sweet when it drips into my throat. I believe it is a keeper for me. I’ll have to try that Odin’s Extreme one day.

@Scasey Scotch Black should be fairly moist. If yours is dry, I am guessing it came in a tap box. Before you make up your mind on that snuff, I would recommend you obtain a 25 gram vacuum packed tin (readily available from Mr. Snuff) to see what it is supposed to be like.

Samuel Gawith London Brown, Scotch Black, Black Rappee, Kendal Brown (Plain, Original, or Special) Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Brown (Plain or Scented) Bernard Gekachelter Virginie Dunkel, Feiner Offenbacher Cardinal or most schmalzlers from them, Pöcshl (The “D” you ordered is pretty sweet. “A” or Perelesreuter are plainer) or Sternecker. MLP Ntsu Leonard Dingler Taxi Most of the “Princes” varieties, though these can be a bit floral.

Thanks everybody for your continuing suggestions and @Xander That’s Awesome! Thx.

That’s pretty well the whole repertoire. I’d say that GH Kendall Brown plain settles down to be plain and strong, though I use more of the SG dark styles mentioned above. Whalen suggested the nasal use of Oden’s Extreme. This mixes very well with the darker heavier sorts though not with finer SP styles. Have a look at the thread ‘Whalen’s a Genius’ where he sets out his reason for believing that the tobacco in the portions may be better to use than the loose. I would say that a mix of GH Kendall Brown with some Oden’s portion would be plain and tasty. The Oden’s raises the levels to the limit imho. Best Wishes. I will now give this a shot and report back to you.

Mixes at 50/50 to something like London Brown. Not the easiest snuff to take but I’ve known worse. Pure tobacco flavour though without any subtlety. The Oden’s, as with the oral takes its time to deliver. But when it does you know the package has arrived! In fact, it just keeps on arriving and, as with the portions, if you lack experience you can go too far.

So with this thread you have seduced me to take some pinches of F&T Santo Domingo again. Wow, this scent of leather is beautiful, isn’t it?

Yes, quite! I particularly like the cedar ‘essence’ that’s in the mix. I also read where someone thought that there was a bit of sandalwood contained therein; I can also see that too. Not sure how much of this is imagination and how much is actually true. I guess we’ll never know as it seems those old F&T recipes are not exactly public knowledge…and I count that as a good thing. I love that WoS is committed to keeping them alive.

@petersuki Well…I’m waiting on that ‘report’. ??

Sorry. The ‘report’ is the second para above posted 9:44. It makes a very powerful plain snuff.

Although it’s considered an SP I really like the tobacco in Gold Label from WoS. I think it’s virginia tab. I love that snuff so much. Is Bernard Gekachelter Virginie a Virginia snuff? What’s it like?

You got me.? I haven’t tried any of Bernard’s snuffs yet.

I believe it is virginia tobacco (as far as I know). The scent is dark and earthy but not unpleasantly so. It is very similar to Gawith Hoggarth Kendal Brown in scent though it seems coarser and less moist. It is also darker in color. It doesn’t hit the throat at all and produces a pronounced nasal discharge. This is the first snuff I grab in the morning and I enjoy it all day long. If you snort the discharge into your throat instead of blowing into a handkerchief it is not bitter or soapy nor does it “pinch” like scotches can. I just find Gekachelter Virginie really enjoyable. I am inclined to agree with Brandasaur about the nicotine level being medium. Since I am not yet proficient with describing snuffs, I’ll just end my rambling here.

I’ve put on my next ‘to order’ list. Looking forward to trying it out.
