hmm after raising the thumb a bit i feel more nicotine and i get longer scent i gues this may be the way i do it from now on. i also spread the pinch all over the thumbnaail and either a shrt sniff or just a normal bbreath depending on the grind

@jeffcraft1 btw I have seen some of your snuff reviews on youtube and you describe the scents very accurate even for plain snuffs so you are just fine man! No plain snuff will give powerful aroma in nose for 20 minutes, thats very rare and unusual .
see what im doing is im basing the reviews on what i get at first scent since the strength really rapidly fades for me usually after 45-60 seconds its usually gone. even with something like toqu rose which i know usually lasts long. i base the scent im getting either while im taking it or immediately after. is that how the scents is supposed to be?

ok good. i had thought i had lost my sense of smell cause they used to last forever. some were so strong before i had to air them out but now that i know thats how its supposed to be ill not worry about it anymore. thank you so very ,uch for confirming that for me!

i find bordeau lasts a bit longer which i like i dont get much out of old paris. smells just like a plain toasted snuff and santo doming i only sometimes get the toppings i usually just get the base tobacco in that one and its just as good as brunswick black rappee

@jeffcraft1 maybe you are imagining the topping in santo domingo or you are very good at detecting scents cause to me it is a just a plain rappee.
Also WOS Plain is a subtle quick scent. To me it is identical to Toque Natural. Whats your opinion on these two?
toque natural to me is similar in some ways but i feel that its more grassy and earthy wheras wos plain is more flowery in a way and i want to say there is a very slight zesty kinda scent to it. and those are both different from viking blonde even though its made by wos now and one would think it would be the same recipiue as wos plain its more leathery and baked goods with a hint of grass. toi me out of the three i will always go with wos plain first its by far my favorite snuff the scent is fleeting but what i get from it is phenominal

the description on toque if i remember correctly says santo domingo has cedar, sandalwood and violent notes as toppings i think unless those are just describer notes for the scent of the tobacco itself

@jeffcraft1 I think the aromatization of santo domingo (cedar, sandalwood and violent) is just very very subtle and practically undetectable, at least for me.
i just looked at a diagram of the inside of the nose. wouldent it make sense to get snuff as close to the back of the nose where the bone seperates the parts of the nose as possible if someone were looking for a real hit of scent?

the circle is where the solid bone entrance is the little blobs at the top middle and center are where my suspicions of where snuff should land if a person was wanting to mak the scent. is my thinking right in this?
@jeffcraft1 some snuff will end up there whether you want it or not.
and the olfactory nerves are powerful to smell things from distance so I dont think something will change… I think you overcomplicating it though…
Have you ever got backdrip from snuff? I guess yes so for sure you had some snuff passed from that specific area in your nose…
My question is why you want so much the scent of snuff to be more than it is already?
oh im not trying for that anymore i was just trying to find the best placement for me. maybe i still have some obsessive thinking but i noticed when i was taking snuff i noticed it felt more comfortable there and the nicotine seemed to be a little more intense so i figured i would go for there.

see i got the idea for aiming for that area based on that old english gentleman and taking it in a similar style without blocking off the nostrils its very satisfying like that
it just happens that u do get a more consistent scent like that
