its been a long time since i posted under this account. i took a long hiatus from snuff and ive learned/and am learning several things.i am still struggling with certain things but they are improving./ its more about changing my way of thinking. so tell me what is some advice you would give to a new snuffer. im sure there are plenty of advice things here but i have a few questions ive noticed are hardly if ever adresses i will list them in umbered points. thank you for your kindess and patience with me over the years
1.is it normal not to get the same intensity or any scent from using a spoon
2. pinch taking advice to get the most satisfaction
3. how frequently do you pinch. can you take too much snuff in a sitting
4. how to maximize enjoyment of snuff
5. how to maximize scents of snuff
6. is it normal to have a few days where you smell ssnuff good as and then days to be nose blind
7.can you still smell the snuff as good as you could when you first started if you are not a new user
8.how can i break myself from chain bumping?
i am determined to enjoy snuff as best i can since i have loved it since my first sniff despite my current issues with it
thank you all have a wonderful day or night wherever you are. keep on sniffin!
Are you talking about plain snuffs and sp styles of snuff?
The intensity of scent is relative to many factors (room/air humidity, your nose humidity, your health and many other factors). In general plain dry snuffs have not much of a staying scent in the nose.
You cant maximize the scents of snuff man. This is snuff and its like this, why you want to change it? If you dont like it as much as you imaging you would like it if it has stronger scent then you simply dont like the snuff as it is.
Nicotine is addictive and if you find yourself chain pinching then maybe light a cigarette and relax or a pipe i dont know. When bumping snuff becomes an obsession I think it stops being really better than any other tobacco addiction like cigarettes. Find new hobbies maybe helps. Personally I hate the never-ending bumping of snuff all day every 10 minutes trying to stay on nicotine all day seems like a mania than a good hobby that snuff can be.
My advice would be to just take a break off snuff and take a bump now and then like one bump every three days and see how u like it then. Maybe you are overthinking of how you would like it to be more than how snuff really is mate. You cant enhance the scent and you dont need to.
Questions like “how to maximize enjoyment of snuff” have literally no point. It is like asking how to maximize the enjoyment of a glass of water… I dont know maybe get thirsty first lol.
I think you are expecting snuff to be something more than that you are experiencing, but it is not.
You maybe have more expectations from snuff than you really can get man. Dont overthink it.
Take a break, take a pinch and if you dont like it find it useless or scentless then dont take another pinch. I think snuff is more “boring” than what you want it to be.
Moderation is the key to enjoyment, it isnt healthy to get obsessed with things generally even if it is the wonderful world of snuff tobacco.
thank you for your reply. see snuff affected me diferently when i started 2015 or so. but im now beginning to enjoy itagain i think im now understanding it more than i did when i posted this. ive begun to change my thinking on snuff to break away from my thinking about ho it used to be. it is what it is. im moreover enjoying it now so thats good
I like to think of snuff as an enhancer of an already enjoyable experience. A tea break add on, a kind of pause in a pause in activity with a scent that carries me into the next burst of work.
like i could take a pinch of snuff like kendall brown and get a high amount of scent from it for like 15-20 minutes before it started to fade. now it fades in under a minute to a background note
@jeffcraft1 I see man, maybe your body chemistry have changed a bit, try out a little break off snuff and a healthy diet might help i guess. Btw did you ever had covid or a heavy flue ? many people cant smell scents like they used to after covid.
Stay strong though! Hope things will change in future!
im still enjoying it despite of scent just trying to find a way that i get the most benefits like i mentioned before. each way has its ups and downs just a matter of finding a way i enjoy
i did have a two year break and have had both sanal surgery and covid. i can smell stuff outside my nose including snuff just once it gets in it like dampens it but thats ok i still get enjoyment from it
@jeffcraft1 yes but you can try adding moisture to the coarse moist snuffs you have like kendal brown.
I cant advise to add moisture to a toast that would be a sacrilege.
Realistically speaking it is very rare to have powerful aroma in the nose for 15-20 minutes from a plain snuff though.
im beginning to realise the length of scent and strength i had at the beginning in 2015 was a fluke lol. i now just try and accept that it is what it is now
@jeffcraft1 thats the right mindset man! I agree! Just start to dont care so much about how it was back then… So many years have past since then, you have to get over it for your own good brother! Just forget about it and accept things as they are now. Stop torturing your mind with this obsession about nasal snuff man. So many years trying to “fix” this “problem” isnt worth it.
i agree. how do you take snuff i use all four methods as sometimes i dont feel nic satisfaction from a pinch un less i use a really sharp sniff which seems tor de clump the pinch and makes better surface coverage
i seem to struggle with the boxcar because im finding i have to use a harder sniff for it than the back of the hand when ive heard that for the box car all it should take is the normal pace and speed of breathing to get it in. could i be tucking my thumb too far down?
@jeffcraft1 yes thats normal just do a sharper sniff off boxcar and yes raise you thumb up a bit.
I use the back of the hand method more but that is just my personal preference/ habit.
