Ok thank you for all your opinions. I don’t want to close this thread but any further comments that are not relevant to the subject (41 Photo Himtaj snuff) will be deleted.
What has me befoggled is the Himtaj Black and white elephant has labels that state" For export only"or ‘Only for export’ Do they sell and use this snuff in India? Or is it just produced for the rest of the world it seems 41 Photo is missing out of a large market in it’s home land.
I know 41 photo said the White Elephant at any rate is only sold overseas, he said mostly in Tibet and Mongolia. 6 photo in another thread said white style snuffs originated in some states of Northern India but it’s mostly not used in India anymore since it’s not very good as a dentifrice. Not sure about the other snuffs, they sound like they’d be fine to rub on your teeth since they’re flavored and not too dry etc. but I haven’t tried them so couldn’t really say.

Seems likely to me that the same snuff is sold in India, but that snuff made for the export market is packaged differently. You even see that on big brand cigarettes (of all types, not just India), slightly different packaging for ciggies sold in different markets. India loves regulations, so I’m sure there are different regulations for marketing and distributing an Indian snuff abroad compared to doing it locally. Personally, I’m not such a huge fan of Indian snuffs, except the white snuffs. Happy to see new products on the market, but I’m still most excited by the White Elephant that’s on it’s way to me now.
@Xander we would like to thank Xander for stepping out and resolving the issue. As stated by you we will not be further commenting on that topic but just wanna thanks for all the support and love that we have come across from this discussion.
@basement_shaman We are thankful and delighted to know for as we can make out from your comment that you have liked our new product Himtaj Black. We would like to inform that White elephant is only used for export purpose and is not sold in its homeland but whereas Himtaj Black and Himtaj Golden is widely consumed in its homeland and we have recently introduced it in Overseas market whereas the label stating “For Export Only” is only because of its packing which is only used for overseas market and not for its Homeland market.
@jakartaboy You are quite right in regards to Himtaj Black and Himtaj Golden as they do have different packing for export as compared to Indian market but WE has only one kind of packing and is only use for export.
@sahibkhan212 your new products have been sitting in limbo in my mrsnuff cart waiting to be ordered. I am excited to receive both the black and golden. I will be placing an order this week.
@sahibkhan212, thanks for that explanation. So, echoing @Basement_Shaman, how come you don’t sell the WE in India? Are white snuffs like that not popular in the homeland? I spoke in a thread about a trip through Tibet and Nepal, in Tibet, snuffs like that seem to be the most popular and common. I never saw WE or Dholakia White there, but some very similar snuffs.
@distaind We would be glad in hearing from you about the Himtaj Black and Himtaj Golden and hope that it stands upto your expectation as the WE
@jakartaboy The purpose of introducing WE was only for export and not for local distribution but since we have received so much love and good comments we will be thinking of introducing it in local market too.
I haven’t really gotten into the Golden yet but the Black is better in the nose than I thought it would be! It has menthol and some “Indian” scenting as you’d expect (search me as to what exactly is in it) but it also has a really nice rich smell of elephant dung under the scenting. I’d kill for a natural version. The dung smell will likely be stronger for others, most scented snuffs I can’t smell any tobacco whatsoever this is one of the few exceptions. Very messy, has oil in it I’m pretty sure, etc., just like 6P Motia in grind/texture. Edit: 41 Photo Golden is substantially similar to the Black. In fact smells almost the same to me but with slightly less menthol and no black dye. Same dung smell that I love so much.
It’s quite possible I was still smelling the Black when I sniffed the Golden. Anyway the Black is REALLY growing on me a lot, when I smelled it in the tin I thought “okay typical Indian snuff I’ll use it up but I won’t be reordering this particular kind” but in the nose it just has a really lovely earthiness/dunginess to it. Indian snuffs, for me, are the only kind that can be relatively heavily scented but still have a lot of natural tobacco goodness.
The golden has light moisture and less messy than the black. Its nice and spicy. I think its better than Super Kailash.
I’m glad they didn’t name it himtaj and super himtaj.
I must say, both the Golden and Black is incredibly delicious! Thanks again!

@sahibkhan212 Do you make a scented snuff without menthol ?
I see I need to repeat myself.
