What's Your Favorite American Dry Snuff?

I really used to not care for the American Scotches either. They were my 1st snuffs way way back in the day, but I was ignorant of snuffs, snorted them, and only would buy some on a whim, and after a while they ended up in the trash. While they still arn’t my faves, it was more recently after I did some Toque Whisky & Honey, and then some F&T HDT, that I gained a greater appreciation for the American Scotches, also I learned how to properly snuff now. So they do have a place in my snuff rotation, but I currently only have 1 can of WE Garrett, and some Honest, and I think that’s all I need of Scotches at this time.

Yup, tom502, I have a can of Rooster, a can of De Voes and various samples of scotches & sweets that’ll last me for some time to come, I think. Although the Rooster has taken quite a battering recently, so I might reorder some of that at some point in the next couple of months.

@toffeenose: Nicotine Rush now has the big cans of Rooster, 4.65oz!

I inherited a lot of tom502’s scotches and I like them all. Some I even love! Thanks once more tom. I’ve also received scotches from a number of other members. So at present I’m well away in that field. I rotate through SP’s, HDT’s and US scotches daily.

So many snuffs, so little time! I love snuff…can’t get enough snuff!..haven’t found one yet that I didn’t like. If only there were more hours in the day to snuff…I need more snuff!

Mood changes on occasion: Levi Garrett Square Tube Rose Swisher Stawberry Stokers Plain & Sweet.

I’m on the other side of the majority with Red Seal. I suppose it’s a sweet, but if I were to venture, Rooster. Nice pic Tin Can Man. I say, “you’re set!” (for a few months)

Yeah, he must have bought a case of it.

A few years.

I just included a can of Rooster with my Nic-Rush order today. I used W.E. Garrett as a dip a few times growing up in the hinterland of Arkansas, but never snorted it. Just ordered 1 american snuff to give the genre a try, and it sounds like a lot of folks like Rooster.

I’ve only had the WE Garrett’s Sweet and Mild. That and the other WE Garrett’s is all that is available locally. When I get more experienced, I may just have to try the Rooster. It sounds like some palm-sweating, heart-pounding snuff!

I have not yet had the pleasure of Rooster. I think from what I’ve read, however, WE Garrett Scotch is comparable in the blast off department. You may want to practice with that one if you can get it locally. I keep holding off ordering Rooster hoping it will turn up in one of the stores around here. Most of the US brands I treat this way, its like a little game I play with myself. I made an exception for Checkerberry and Maccoboy since they are unique. I might have to do the same with Rooster.

American dry snuffs have a hearty, pure tobacco flavor with a good nicotine content. Each one is unique in it’s own way, hard to describe each one individually. For some reason, I keep gravitating back to Rooster. Just placed an order with nicotinerush for some Standard and Three Thistle Strong to try. …It’s all good!

To me, the Scotches don’t have a “natural tobacco” taste, not like Toque Natural, or QWS Smoker’s Blend. If they did, I’d be a big fan. To me, they most closely seem like the Toast style of Europe. Which isn’t bad, personally, but I’m not a big fan of.

Tom, try Navy Plain. It’s very low on the smoke and very easy to take.

I thought Navy Plain was kind of boring. Have you had Ralph’s? For ones that are not really flavored, I like that one.

Of the non-sweets, I have had WE Garrett, Bruton, and Honest. I think that’s all.

okey dokey…another bumpity bump! i went a lil bit US snuff crazy today, and felt the need to bore you all with the details. My purchases were Bruton and Checkerberry earlier today. I just came back from my new favorite store Bi-Lo, a chain grocer that actually has a nice selection of snuffs with a tube of Square. This one here is runnin’ neck n neck with Bruton as my new favorite American snuff. Really nice BBQ/Smokey aroma. After tonight I’ll either have narrowed down my favorite of the 2, or forgotten i bought due to the brewski consumption. Either way, it has been a banner day for the Fisch pond!!

I mostly use American scotches as blending ingredients, to bump up the nicotine level of more fragrant snuffs. However, once in a while I’ll take a little pinch of Honey Bee as is.

@PipenSnusnSnuffndo u just eyeball or have exact measurements?
