viking blonde

After sampling the blonde straight out of the tin and out of my snuffbox for two days I definitevely catch something besides the virginia tobacco, I don´t know if I´ll define it as citrus but is a clean fresh scent (not the menthol way) that lingers in the background and complements perfectly the tobacco aroma, very yummy and a great alldayer!

My tin smells almost exactly like F&T HDT. Not a bad thing in itself just not what I was expecting (;

What’s the grind and moisture content like?

I’ve tried this today for the first time. It’s not an SP, but rather a plain VA snuff. Quite strong nic as well. Stefan

Hmm… interesting!

I’ve got a tin of this in the mail, with any luck it should arrive today. Can’t wait to try it out, it sounds nice… whatever it is!

Well, I just got it in and on first pinching, I can’t notice any scenting either, but a soft pleasant tobacco aroma. I really enjoyed this immediately on first snuff. @SnuffSniffer it seems like a medium grind, and pretty moist.

is this the same as SG Yellow Crest I wonder?

No, it’s much more like No. 1 High Mill. I’d call it a plain SP.

To me SP No. 1 HM has a strong bergamot scent, it is far from being a “plain VA snuff”, as Walrus1985 and some others have described Viking Blonde. I don’t understand why the reports on this snuff are so contradictory. I guess there’s only one way to find out :stuck_out_tongue:

maybe it’s not the reports that are contradictory. Maybe the snuff is inconsistent. I don’t know about snuff, but I do know that in other products it is not uncommon to have a contract product made by more then one manufactuer. Maybe viking is like that.

Which one is true?

Which one is true?

The first one looks right.

First one looks like V.Brown, second photo looks to be the blonde.

It’s Samuel Gawith so I’m going to say they both are !

They are pics of the same snuff under different lighting, colour in pics can be deceiving and depends largely on lighting conditions. You can clearly tell that the 2nd pic was taken under much brighter lighting, not only is the snuff lighter but the tin label is a lighter colour also.

@Viertel Mine{first batch} is in between those two colors. Your guaranteed each batch of every snuff will look different. No matter how it is photographed.

Was a bit “weak” on flavor for my tastes— I prefer Toque SP Extra or Spanish Gem-- lights me up immediately and continual flavor. I LIKE Viking Blonde but the flavor doesn’t last very long-- though it is tasty. I’d recommend it but only if you’re not a fan already of solid SP’s like SGem or whatever.

Viking Blonde is everything a plain VA snuff should be.
