I wouldn’t mind a bullet if they dispensed a bit more snuff. I’ve thought about drilling one out, but until I get around to that, it’s just not worth the hassle.
The Posh bullets have two settings, the left one dispenses a about what the acrylic bullets do, the right one provides a nice big hit.
@fredhanna Eh, it happens. Just got a 1oz stainless steel flask that I ordered from eBay, and I’m looking forward to trying that. I also purchased a few dozen of the plastic flip-top disk containers from Freund Container, and so far those have worked well enough, as long as I don’t mind taking a pinch instead of doing boxer or back of hand.
Now that I’ve been using my Toque bullet for a while, I noticed I get a lot more snuff to the back of my throat with it when loaded with very fine snuffs than I do with my metal bullets I got from ebay. So I poured out the portion of each onto my hand and the Toque bullet gives almost twice the portion when compared to the metal ones. Also, with Toque Rustica Fine ground in the Toque bullet I experienced my first comical coughing out a dust cloud moment that is often seen in cartoons or comedy skits that have a snuff element. I didn’t think that was really possible but it is. :))

Yup, not all snuffs work well in bullets. Moist and/or course snuffs don’t work, and as you’ve noted, the finer dryer snuffs can be a bit brutal (I would never even consider loading a dry white into a bullet). I only use them at work, where I must be discrete. Anywhere else, a pinch or the spoon is much preferred.
In terms of the toque bullets the toasts and SP Extra and Quit are the best, I got an SP Extra in the post yesterday and I don’t need to empty any out. However I can’t get anything out of the blueberry so will have to empty it and refill, it’s meant I have been enjoying SP extra all day so not a bad thing.
As a person with 2 dogs and, three cats, I find it scary to do the pinch method in bed with the possibility that the dogs will shove me over and, knock all my snuff all over the bed.
I’ve got a few cheap plastic bullets from ebay and have been using Viking Blond in them with no issues. They deliver the correct amonut for me currently, and that may be because I am a newcomer to snuff taking WoS Best SP is my favourite ‘indoor’ snuff but I’d think twice about that straight from a bullet, would decant onto my hand for sure I think.
Well for me right now i am still pinching snuff from the 10 grams tins and snuff boxes. I want to try the bullets, but I am still somewhat a beginner sniffing snuff. And i was told that getting a bullet may turn me off sniffing cause its so much snuff at one time for beginners. So I do believe i will get a few bullets down the road after I get used to snuff and the burn.
@Ozzyozz I am still pretty new to snuff but, most people say both. It has too much or, it has too little. Some even grind it into a bigger thing. I think it mostly has to do with what you load into it. Personally all snuff I do is in different amounts from each other but, nothing I have so far is too much for taking from a bullet I just take it more than once.
I use bullets on a daily basis for discreet use. The Posh bullets are the best by far, the Toque bullets are next best. I don’t think any bullet will dispense moist/coarse snuff well. If you don’t overfill them (a cardinal sin), and use a modestly dry snuff, they work wonderfully. I agree than if you don’t get what you need from one hit, simply take another. I normally go through two to three bullets in an 8 hour work day.
I really like the convenience of the bullets. I prefer the ones with the glass vials and acrylic tops. The aluminum ones I tried were useless. I did use a Dremmel tool to enlarge both the funnel and scoop. It only took a couple of minutes. I’ve used them successfully with several varieties of McChrystal’s, Checkerberry and all varieties of Q Snuff. The only drawback i’ve experienced is that the glass vials are a little difficult to fill without a proper funnel, but not so difficult as to put me off using them. I’ve not tried using them with any really dry varieties yet. I make sure that the bullet is pointing forward and not straight up when I take the snuff. This seems to avoid getting snuff in the sinuses or back of the throat. I’ve considered trying the Posh, but for now, I think I’ll stick with these. They’re lightweight, which means I can carry more than one variety of snuff without having a lot of weight in my pocket.
