I am always triggered when i take snuff in public, so i wanted to give bullets a chance, they did not disappoint me, i used a bullet full of toque quit in a bus, they are simple and practical i guess. İ always read bad reviews about bullets, i wonder, who likes them beside me?
I got the 6 for 5 deal to mainly try some new scents and also for the potential utility of them. In the end I have just unscrewed the bottom and did a boxcar. Perhaps it is the size of the pinch I am accustomed to, but they don’t seem to deliver “enough”. I will certainly keep the empties on hand and may well find use for them as convenient, and yes, discrete delivery methods, but just yesterday I dismissed any notion of worrying what someone may think and took my snuff on the train via of all methods boxcar…
I have to be very discrete at work, so bullets work well. I like the Posh metal ones best, though they are more a hassel to load. At home, though, I much prefer to pinch.
I will certainly keep them around for times when either discretion or the weather is at play.
Personally I like the toque small flask for filling my boxcar, attached to my key chain I can’t leave home without it! It keeps my snuff in fresh condition at all times, holds plenty of my favorite snuff
Pinching is my favorite too, still, in my country when you snuff something, they do not think about twice, , they always assume something awful, they even do not know about drugs, they think every drug related behavior is a violent crime, so i am alittle triggered. also i am on alot of psychiatric drugs, anxiety is my arch enemy, i have to be discreet.
Though bullets seem to be the most discrete ninja way of taking snuff, I still feel that its better to be caught pinching than using a bullet - once someone sees you. Bullets look more suspicious. Thats how I feel about it.
From a previous vocation I can attest to the first thought that would come to mind upon seeing someone using a bullet- but to Toque’s credit they have very obvious labels attached, which I might add don’t want to come off cleanly. Before I got back into snuff the only use I knew of for bullets was for drugs. Now I see the absolute benefit of them for what likely was the original design- that of snuff taking. I would certainly say that of engaged by the local constabulary after taking snuff- and more so from a bullet- understand the initial connotation that comes to the non-snuff takers mind. Be ready to explain that its tobacco and understand the initial doubts that may be issued. For it is 2014 and while snuff taking is completely legal, appreciate that it does sometimes look like we are doing something else.

I have to disagree with that bit. I’m pretty sure the original design intention was for illegal drugs. They were marketed (and still are) as ‘snuff’ bullets to make them legal in certain jurisdictions that have laws against drug paraphernalia. Re-assigning them to actual snuff use, I think, has been an afterthought during the snuff resurgence of today. Also I think most users of them come to the same conclusion: they really don’t work that well for snuff.
For me it is a love/hate relationship. I have noticed that snuff just won’t fall to the little spoon inside no matter how hard i tap it…except of course…if i slam it head down to the desk :P. that usually solve the problem
Yes, don’t over-fill your bullet. Even then, a fairly moist and/or course snuff won’t work well. I’ve found that “medium” to fairly “dry” snuffs work best (no super dry whites!). They are a necessary evil for me where I work. I really like the Posh bullets, but I do have an acrylic from Toque that works well (keep it loaded with Jockey Club). They aren’t great, and I much prefer to pinch, but if you need to be discrete, the bullet is the answer.
I have an old “snuff rocket” that I can’t seem to find anywhere these days, I have an old one that has been super glued and fixed several times. Id go snuffless without my bullet! Aka rocket. I’ve been on the hunt for one just like mine and will certainly share the location once I find it! But as far as they go I love mine! Mecompco, is correct about the moist snuff not working great. I just got a 12 tin case of mccrystals O&G and it’s very moist in my opinion which does lead to a harder time getting it out of the bullet. Whereas some sweet snuff I had a while back that was very dry and very fine would allow the rocket to dose it right into your throat which I didn’t like so there is certainly a balance and personal preferences involved. But that’s my two cents!
Here we are then… A rough picture of the “snuff rocket”
In my most recent Toque order that I just received I got an Acrylic Bullet. It works better than my metal one imo and seems to hold maybe just a little bit more snuff. Type of bullet (metal/acrylic) is a personal preference as well but I prefer the acrylic. EDIT: A little bit of a humorous addition to my post here, just now I noticed, after putting my new acrylic down at my computer desk, that the blue led light from my gaming mouse shines through my clear bullet and makes it glow with the blue light and I thought, that’s snuff for the modern age! :))
My acrylic from Toque (not one of the snuff-filled ones) is great. Got one from MS that is a little larger but the O-ring is too big and binds (one of these days I’ll get to the hardware store and find a replacement). I really like my Posh bullets–heavy and well machined–just a bit more of a PITA to load as you have to unscrew the base. I’d love to find a bullet that holds a full day’s worth of snuff and will dispense the moister/coarser snuffs as well as the dry fine ones.
Following the advice given- in terms of emptying a bit out and sticking to a finer grind makes my Toque bullets are now a must take when I leave the house. As Roderick noted- the bags they come in is perfect for offloading about half into. Brilliant.
Like @SgtJon and others, I like the Toque bullets for fine grind and medium grind snuffs. But too fine a snuff (i.e., powder) in a bullet goes straight into the throat for me and gets me to give up a cough or two. The bullets are also not so great for coarse snuffs, in my view. But as bullets go, I like the Toque version and I like that they are smaller. But whatever the snuff and whatever the grind, I far prefer to pinch or boxcar whenever I can. I bought some of the Toque flasks some time ago and was pleased to read the comments that the Shaman mentioned above. But I have not tried them yet. I will be soon enough, of course. They seem great to me. I have also been pleased with the stainless steel vials and titanium vials (expensive) that Mr. Snuff sells. They work great for me. And while I am at it, I might mention that I am very fond of the plastic snuff box/tap box combinations from Snuffhouse and Mr. Snuff. To me, they are great and keep the snuff surprisingly fresh.
I wouldn’t mind a bullet if they dispensed a bit more snuff. I’ve thought about drilling one out, but until I get around to that, it’s just not worth the hassle.
@fredhanna I bought the Mr. Snuff plastic snuff box, and the plastic tab for the hinge of the top broke on me the very first time I even opened the thing. I have it jury-rigged with a paper clip as a hinge, using masking tape to hold the paper clip to the side of the snuff box, but haven’t tested that yet. It was only $7.49, but I’m very disappointed- I know it’s easy to say in hindsight, but that plastic peg/tab that serves as the hinge looks awfully small and weak on there. I have yet to try most of the other plastic snuff boxes I got.
Very sad to hear this @barkingleopard
