spot on. Thanks and good work.
See, thatâs what I love about this site. I was snuffing with you. TAT, of course. Until the world comes to itâs senses and snuffs more, sometimes to share our hobby and passion we turn here. If I had a webcam and werenât a bit xenophobic, I would make the same kind of vidis. This site adds an element of fellowship that I find priceless. Itâs like sharing a pipe or having a C-gar w/ a friend. Bravo.
I worked at a coffeehouse about 10 years ago, and the aroma of this snuff is identical to that of the Torini(?) almond syrup we used. I thought I wasnât going to like it - that it would either be too sweet or too dry for me, but itâs quickly become one of my favorites. I tend to keep to one flavor per day, and switch everyday, but when itâs an almond toast day not only are my fingers constantly in the tin, but I generally keep to it for a couple days in a row. Canât speak to the odor lasting long once in the nose. Very few last long in my nose, but Iâm convinced this has more to do with me than the snuff. I have poor olfactory skills in general.
While I do get almond essence, which has always reminded me of cherries, I pick up some sort of petroleum-ness to this one. It reminds me of an oil processing plant I once worked at. Not in a bad way, though. I think iâll air this one out for an hour and retest it again and again and again andâŚ

I get this sometimes too, but its not surprising as they are both fruits in the prunus genus.
@Pincher I get that too with some toque snuff, but I though it was more a paraffin in the back ground. With time I had over come this; I havenât been able to detect it in my most recent batches.
The oiliness has been confusing me a bit. So much so, that I went to my spice cabinet and took a whiff of pure almond extract to compare with Toqueâs Almond Toast. The petroleum is present in my almond extract as well, but less so. Maybe this is a side scent of almonds that I never picked up on before.
my last order included 6 25g tins. iâm pretty new, but this is my favorite so far. this last batch seemed a little darker in colorânot so blond. as i also like the natural toast-- i like the AT after it airs out a bitâwith just a little background flavor. itâs also a pretty good mixer. sometimes i put just a little bourbon snuff with it in my tiny little âdayâ box for a little smokey flavor. donât do it muchâas i just like this very much as is.
@Roderick Isnât Marizpan an almond based confection?
Found an old thread.
I got this based on the reviews - toasty and a solid, sweet marzipan almond âtasteâ.
I got a 25g tin from Mr. Snuff with a lot of others, and was disappointed in the distinct lack of scent. Barely noticeable nutty scent in what is otherwise a natural toast scent. I got the impression this was a pretty in your face sweet almond scent.
Is the issue that I bought a possibly older tin from Mr. Snuff, or am I overestimating the reviews?Â
I think you might have got an older tin - I remember it as being definitely toasty and almondy when I tried it. Try ordering some direct from Roderick.
@DireWolf I agree with Justin. Order direct from Toque http://www.toquesnuff.com/  I need to replenish my Bulk. Running low on this one.
I did order the 10 tin special not too long after posting this. Included some Vanilla, too - just to see what the difference was. First order from Toque, so I am looking forward to a wide variety of new snuffs.
