as much as i would like to own a proper box, having the tin it came in actually helps out when someone questions you what you are doing. At least I have an actual tin with a logo on it to let them know I’m not sniffing a rail…

The main thing about snuff boxes is that they are nice, but they are no better than the tin the snuff comes in. And as discussed earlier the volume of the snuff in the brand tin helps to keep it fresh. Snuff boxes conjure up the heyday of snuff, elegance, style etc but vary so much that some are actually useless. The best I have found in 25 years of snuff use are my Wilsons box and two silver boxes I have. Silver really seems to help stop the deteriation. I don’t own one yet but I would guess the boxes made by onefortheroad would be similarly effective.
I own one of Onefortheroad’s boxes and they are excellent. The box is smaller than my other one so there is no air bouncing around inside. The lid is a much tighter seal as well. The box has been keeping my Toque Chocolate in very nice condition! Its also very nice to look at & beautifully hand crafted. The price hes asking for them is very reasonable as well. If I decide I want any snuff boxes in future I’ll be getting them from Onefortheroad.

Don’t get cheap pill boxes guys! Get a real silver snuff box, and you will not have “dead” snuff anymore. It is simply a matter of knowing what you are buying. Getting a good snuff box is as much of an art, as finding a tobacco of your personal preference. My lates Birmingham silver box keeps my snuff absolutely fresh for at least 4-5 days.
I agree Viking. I bought a cheap metal box from a snuff website and it was awful, it leaked all over the place and clearly wasn’t designed for holding snuff. It was just a cheap pill box the site was trying to pass off as a snuffbox - I wasn’t impressed!! The wooden snuffboxes that Onefortheroad makes are first class and he is asking a very reasonable price for them. They are well-made, have a tight seal, are small & light enough to comfortably carry anywhere and even look cool too so I cannot recommond them highly enough. They also keep my snuff in tip-top condition! Snuffster; it took just over a week for my snuffbox to arrive - well worth the wait!! Right now i’m desperately resisting the temptation to buy another…
Definitely to BOX! It is really nice to take a pinch from a simple wooden box with a good lid. I like the dovetailed lids…when you pack them with a flick of the finger it looks very nice and neat. Pinch…
