@basement_shaman yeah you’re right - somehow it does seem like a waste of good snuff.
When is the snuff championship scheduled ?
I have read about this event on the internet. All I know is that I love snuff,however, I would never want to participate in this competition. I snuff for enjoyment and the pictures that I have seen from this event, seems like it would be too much of a rush for me and wasting too much snuff.
@sixphoto it is usually in the summer in Bavaria - I have a friend down there so I will ask him to find out and let you know. I was banging on about this event last year and didn’t make it in the end. Definitely on the cards again for this year.
Interesting to hear that there is a snuff taking championship. I tried a pipe smoking contest at last year’s Chicago pipe show (given 2 matches, a set amount of tobacco, a tamper made from a wooden dowel, and a brand new pipe, try to keep your pipe lit longer than anyone else). I was the second or third person out, but it was fun to try, and price of admission was about the same as the value of the pipe I got.

@BarkingLeopard, @lunecat, I was last year on the Pipe Club Teams’ World Cup which was held in my city. It was a big show with lectures on tobacco and pipes, a small fair with pipe tobacco and accessories, etc. Pipe smokers have a very friendly atmosphere going one around them. That’s what todays snuff’s community should look like. Despite the fact that the atmosphere on the Schnupftabak Weltmeisterschaft is probably also friendly, the competition is rather a farce (at least from another point of view). Picking the champion by the amount of snuff he consumed is a bit strange and viels the charm of proper snuff taking. However, tradition is tradition and this is not to be missed. Although I personaly call this event “The Snuff Taking Championship of the German World”. Ok, time to end this jeer and practice to be the Polish Snuff Champion! (Rocky soundtrack in the background)
Snuff Taking Championship? More like Schmalzler Cramming Championship

ok guys, so I can’t say I was genuinely in training as such but I was curious about how much schmalzer I could get up my hooter in 60 seconds and as I had just bought a 100g bag I thought, what the hell - start the stop watch (ok I pigged out and had a schmalzer fest all on my own). So all was going pretty well for the first 4 larger than usual pinches but then my nose troughs were just so blocked that relying on inhalation alone just didn’t work any more and there was more tobacco on my desk than anywhere else. So as n9inchnails points out above, the rest is literally just cramming ie. get a load of snuff on the end of your finger and paste it into your nose. So sadly I probably won’t be such a good contender after all…however if I was allowed to take strong, intermittent menthol blasts between hits to clear the airways then I might just manage to snuff a couple more gramms. Anyway - the nic hit was awsome!!
