I am planning to get some Paul Gotard into the new warehouse and I was wondering what the favorites are. I have put up a simple page on the site with all the flavors and little checkboxes. It will email me the results so I can tally them up. Also I need to know if you prefer tins or plastic containers. If yo have mo’ and don’t mind helping me out, click here and put your check marks in: Paul Gotard VoteMany thanks.
Rejoice! So many of them sound great. Dave, any idea who they are actually made by?
WOW!! Yea, there are quite a few I would be interested in trying. I can see why you need to narrow it down some. Thanks for the oportunity to vote. PP tins are my preferance
Oh yes, tins as well. No more evil tappers please!
You get PG and I will buy some! PS, FRED TRANTER! lol
I second digital’s FRED TRANTER vote I would love to try their Toast
I thought we settled this. Its made ny Al Pacino when he dressed up like Paul Gotard for the Merchant of Venice. Ask Filek which ones are the best, he’s probably had the most experience with them. I’ve heard the apricot is ok and the dark night? or black knight, or whatever is pretty good.
Only five there that I would be remotely interested in. I did give the votes so you have got my attention.
The reviews at snuffreviews are not very flatering generally, but I have a slight interest, and anything with Al Pacino on it must not be all bad.
Gotard’s snuff, in my opinion, is nothing to write home about. But, I’ve only tried 3. I’ve had the strong menthol, iceberg and black knight. The iceberg was my favorite, but I hated the black knight. I’m not saying they aren’t worth trying though, and from a collectors point it’s the only Polish snuff I know of. I would probably still pick up a few others that sound interesting.
Other Polish brands include 3 Musketeers and Butterfly.
Bump. So, anything ever come of this Dave? I was putting together my big summer order, when suddenly I remembered this, and there were quite a few in there that I would have been interested in. Possibly making my order Wednesday, more likely next week, if anything’s actually in the work for this.
Check Paul Gotard’s website. They’ve got some new stuff, and some limited editions listed on there.
But it doesn’t seem like you can order from it. My Polish is a bit non-existent, but from “Startowa,” “Produkty,” “Produkty Limitowane,” “Aktualności,” and “Kontakt,” I get “Home page,” “Products,” “Limited edition products,” “News,” and “Contact.” Perhaps Filek can pop in and tell me how terrible my Polish is. :þ It’s disappeared from snuffstore and cygara-tyton.pl doesn’t list it anymore. Though they do have a rather interesting snuff on their site now that I look. http://www.cygara-tyton.pl/pl/p/Tabaka-Maverick-Green-25g/2512 The description doesn’t look like it’ll be of much use in guessing what this stuff’s like, though. As best I can guess with my aforementioned lack of Polish knowledge, it reads something like “15g plastic container of Maverick Menthol snuff, produced by Van Erkoms Tobaccos of South Africa.”
I had one or two types of this when Snuffstore UK had it in stock. Nothing to write home about. Except mind you don’t cut your fingers on the unfinished tin edges!
My Polish is non-existant as well, but Google Translate’s is pretty good!
@shikitohno i personally dig MAVERICK GREEN. it has a good, somehow typical “african” base and a nice menthol. not over-whelming but nice. the plastic tin is awesome too, in design matter - imho.
have the PG tin´s the beard man on top or the new design (which sucks imho) ?
Looking at SnuffReviews there may be 2 or 3 that I would like to try. But several blends do not have any reviews already. Apple Pie looks intriguing, but again, no reviews. Anyone ever tried this one?
When Snuffstore had them, I tried a few, my memory fails me as to which ones but you didn’t miss out on much. As I remember they had a lot of menthol in them, which I didn’t mind but wouldn’t be to everybody’s taste. Stefan
