@JakartaBoy Indian population is estimated to be around 1.2 billion at this time,so there is a sizable market for almost everything. Snuff is not the most popular of tobacco products, chewing tobacco, khaini (snus),pan masala and Gutka (now banned.) are definitely more popular but nevertheless there is a sizable market for snuff. There must be about 100 odd units of snuff in India though I dont have the exact number.

Whoops, sorry about that! I must have been working with data from 1960 or something. Thanks for the correction.
I would think that more people in India smoke cigarettes than use snuff. I donāt know, but thats what I assume. Snuff is seen by many as something old⦠outdated perhaps.Cigarettes are more āmodernā so it would seem. In my own experience, I donāt know anyone who takes snuff other than myself and the people here. I know there must be many users, but I just wonder where they are. Also, with the Indian snuff, it seems to used orally more than in the nose, as a dentifrice. I canāt imagine how brushing ones teeth with snuff would make them whiter, but perhaps it doesā¦
An Indian I ran into IRL also said something about its being used in tribes/villages, same phrase sixphoto and jakarta have used, I didnāt know much about this but I guess to go by this map ātribalā people in India would make up a pretty decent chunk of the population. Another Indian I asked about this said it wasnāt done much, but yeah like sixphoto said something thatās ānot done muchā in a country of over a billion people is still going to be done quite a lot in absolute terms.
7photo stock now in the country, just waiting for customs to give it the all clear.
Just wondering if there were any updates on the progress of this venture?
Yes, let us know, please!
I sent a pm to @indiansnuff yesterday about the same topic. I am such an avid fan of all of Indiaās snuffsā¦I hope to hear some word soon.
He hasnāt logged in since 4 April. Hope everything is OK.
Yes indeed - I knew it had been a while, but not that long, since heād been around. Iād wondered if he was still having an issue with a card payment processor, which seemed to be a major hold-up, but heās always regularly updated everyone on whatās happening. Hope itās nothing more seriousā¦
Hello everyone. Everything is OK here just been rather hectic in my personal life and the day job. Itās now all sorted so hopefully I can get back to the business of trying to sort out the payment processor. Thanks you.
Iām really looking forward to ordering from you if it turns out you find a way to ship to the US. I am really liking the Indian snuffs Iāve tried and would like to try some of the ones that arenāt available on MrSnuff.
Sounds like its not happening.
Sadly it is looking like that is going to be the case. I still am having issues trying to find a payment processor willing to accept me. I can accept payment via bank transfers for UK based orders but sadly that is it. I am very sorry to everyone that was looking forward to the shop, Iām not going to stop trying but realistically itās looking very unlikely that I will find anything. Thank you
thanks for the update, @indiansnuff sorry the financial system is so tight-assed
This really bites! Youāve got awesome snuff that no one else has available. One could always go āold schoolā. Iāve no problem sending cash payment to honest vendors such as yourself.
Thanks for the support guys. I will be looking to still open the site, with the option to pay by bank transfer (or cash if people so wish) shortly. To be honest western union is a possibility but it does have a bit of a bad rep
DO IT! I hope anyone here who has done business with you wouldnāt hesitate to send cash (I know I wouldnāt). Iād love to help spread the word. If you could get White Elephant (in bulk, perhaps) and some other favorites (6 Photos?) that might help. What the heckāa domain and hosting for a year is what, $60.00 US?
What ever happened? Seems to have just dead ended.
I am curious also. @indiansnuff did you end up getting this website going?
