I have an Idea whether its good or not we will find out. Nicotine

Yeah high concentrate Nicotine powder could do it just like the nice juice I have if it was ingested some way all at once, like swallowing it. I’m sure there is a way I could turn this nic juice into powder if I did some chemistry but I’m not interested in doing that.

The website Leaf Only that I am going to buy the whole leaf rustica from does say that is and can be used as a pesticide because of the high nicotine content. So its a multi purpose tobacco, how great.

I don’t want to waste any using it as a pesticide but it is weed season. Maybe after making it into snuff and I’m using it, I guess I can just blow my nose on the weeds in my yard and that will take care of them.

Oh and that caffeine story I’ve never heard of it but I’m not surprised, caffeine is no joke. The last few years I’ve seen caffeine being advertised and put into many different products that I don’t think is really necessary, especially if the person is already drinking coffee and or soda. I recently saw a commercial for caffeine infused shampoo on tv. They also have caffeine toothpaste, mouthwash, mini liquid shots, toothpicks, gels, etc. They probably even have caffeine body lotion. Many different ways for people to take America’s favorite drug.

A comparison of rusticas from Toque and Leaf Only would be very interesting. As far as I know, no one has made such yet (or it hasn’t been discussed). A reliable way to find out if they noticeably differ in nicotine would be making a batch of snuff from each, following the same formula of your choice. There might be other differences as well - flavour profiles, colour, taste etc.

Consider procuring 100 and 200 micron sieves or strainers for sifting your rustica from Leaf Only, and electrical coffee grinder for milling, if you don’t have one yet. Fine Toque rustica flour is probably sifted through 100 micron sieve (I use 150 micron sieve and resulting powder is a tad coarser, and actually is more to my liking than finer fraction).

Cheap 100 and 200 micron strainers ideally fit for this purpose can be obtained from US Plastic EZ-Strainers™ | U.S. Plastic Corp.. Quite a few American artisans (Chef Daniel, OSP dude and some other members of this forum) have used and recommended them.

Using a proper sieve makes a huge difference to snuff texture, I advise procuring at least a couple of them (100 and 200 micron) before ordering whole leaf.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I’ll definitely take your advice when making the snuff’s as this will be my first time trying to do so. Also thats a great idea to compare the two rustica’s and give my feedback. I’ll use that as my excuse as to why I’m doing this. :smirk:

I’m still waiting for my order from Toque. Today would only make it ten days since it was shipped, it does say 10 to 15 days for US, though I thought it might be here earlier just because Mr. Snuff is always quick and I live on the east coast. But they are being shipped from totally different places so its understandable. Anyway it should be here soon. I’ll be ordering the Rustica from leaf only today and that is coming from US so shouldn’t take too long.

I’ll be getting the other things I need to make the snuff together but I have most of what I need already. I’ll keep you guys updated when I get this going. Thanks for all the tips!

One used to be able to buy USP Pure nicotine and caffeine powder from Amazon and other retailers. They were “asked” by the federal government here in the US to stop selling it, and most, if not all have complied. The danger of OD was of course the reason. Not to mention that nicotine is potent enough to use as a murder method.

Yeah so Toque said my order was severely delayed due to May day holidays in Germany which makes sense. Looking at the tracking, it sat in Germany for almost 2 weeks lol. But I got a few messages from USPS and it arrived in NY yesterday and has left the distribution center already. The expected delivery date is Wednesday! My Rustica order from Leaf Only may be arriving Wednesday also so that would be convenient.

I’ll most likely be making the snuffs on the weekend. I’m excited to learn how to make my first homemade snuffs! I think it’s a good thing to know anyway because we never know what will happen with the ever changing laws in our governments against tobacco.

I am also going to order a few different kinds of tobacco seeds so I can grow but I just haven’t done it yet and its kinda late now to plant them anyway, but next year I can get them going at the right time. I’ll keep you guys updated and take some photos of the results.

Good to hear your Toque order has crossed the ocean already! Also, it’s still not too late to start very early finishing tobacco and rustica varieties like Alida/Ahus, Little Dutch, Punche, Isleta Pueblo etc.
