I'm On to something

Hello everyone I am a new snuffer, I have been reading about snuff for a while now a few months ago I was at a local wallgreens and found some W.E. Garrett snuff, i tried it, it was painfull i got it all in my throat and decided to put it away for another day. Recently I have been looking at this site ( not really sure why, just had it bookmarket) and decided to dig it out and try it again. first time was painfull but i saw hope in and decided to read a lot more about techniques and the like until a couple of days ago i found it quite pleasant after a little initial pain, but i wasnt getting any nicotine ( I have tried a couple cigars and pipe tobacco and havnt really gotten anything except for a little bit of a buzz from an olivia cigar-dont rreally want to bother with cigarettes) and i stumbled across a thread that mentioned mixing baking soda in with the snuff, WELL that really made a difference for me. Then today i visited THE REZ a smoke shop on a local senaca indian rezervation and they had a pretty good selection of different american brands so i picked up Red Seal, Tube Rose, Square. I tried the Red seal as I have read that some people cannot find it anymore and have only tried that one yet, but it was really nice, and i got an equally good nicotine buzz from it as the doctored up Garrett. Now i have a few questions -are the american snuffs going away, I have read that a lot of the companies such as US Smokeless doesnt really like to talk about their products? -do the nicotine receptors in your brain need a bit of time to figure out what nicotine is, maby this could explane my lack of a buzz from the initial use? -as i use snuff as a interest right now i mainly use it after work and before bed, should i be doing anything right before bed such as rinsing my nose out or really cleaning it or not worry about it, i dont get very much mucas but i do notice in the morning that i have dried tobacco getting liquified in the shower or should i just take care of it there? P.S. This group of people has been very helpfull as there arent a lot of people that can tell you what snuff is, the first time i bought it at wallgreens the guy didnt even know what i was asking for and when he picked it up the sweet scotch wasnt even in the computer so i just got the scotch snuff Thank you all for being so helpfull

Is not that necessary but a Neti Pot helps a lot to clean your nose properly( i use mine everyday). Man about the buzz i really dont know anything except that snuff made the job and helped me staying away from cigs (i was a heavy smoker) and i am much better now. Keep the snuff in the front part of your nose and the nic will work nicely. (American snuffs are pretty strong in nic) sorry for the bad english. AP

From my experience, for whatever reason I don’t get as much of a nic buzz from we garrett as other scotch snuffs. I’m sure the nic content is similar to many other scotch snuffs but I just dont get the same kick from it. Starting out I imagine you arent taking very big pinches. As your nose gets accustomed to snuffing and you can take more you’ll probably find the nic hit to be more intense. You’ll get varied response about nose care. I own a neti pot but I only really use it if I feel like I need it…once or twice a week. But I generally use saline nasal spray before bed to moisten any dry snuff residue in my nose which make it easier to blow out. 1
