Have you by example caused anyone to quit smoking and take up snuff instead?

A good friend of mine was a 50 a day RYO smoker and it was hurting me as much as it was him as we chat a lot over xbox live and his constant coughing into the mic was giving me headaches. He had been trying to quit the cigs for several years without success and took to snuff like a duck to water unfortunately he now blows his nose with such force and regularity that i am often left with an unpleasant ringing in my ears. Still we now both share a passion for snuff, paracetamol are after all relatively inexpensive and i no longer have to wait during multiplayer while he rolls yet another cig. Who knows he might even live a little longer unless of course he keeps beating me at golf.

Dave…Thanks…I am Putting my list together now.Trying also to sell some e-cig parts on the ECF to pay for it…LOL… The Wiz!

I’m a pipe smoker and had no intention of quitting. I normally smoke six to eight pipes a day and haven’t smoked in a month. This wasn’t on purpose but I guess snuff is so much less bothersome to other people and I don’t have to sit in a cold garage to enjoy it and it satisfies my nicotine addiction, it just happened. I’m sure I’ll smoke a pipe on occasion but I don’t see the eight pipes a day happening again. Pipes are best enjoyed when conditions are just right for having one, not being driven by addiction. Snuff addiction, of course, is perfectly acceptable; it bothers no one else and is apparently harmless. Good luck quitting cigarattes by the way.

I agree with you erganso. I’m a regular snuffer but once every couple of months or so I’ll fire up one of my pipes if the conditions are just right. I’m a briarwood guy myself. I own a couple of meerschaums but prefer the taste of a good wooden churchwarden.

The peculiar thing is that I use a fraction of the amount of tobacco as a snuffer than I did as a smoker - a couple of packs of cigarettes is a huge amount compared to the pinches I take in a day - and remain just as satisfied.

If for no other reason, the cost savings of snuff alone should convince most people to make the switch. Of course there’s the sinfully nice pleasures of the assorted tastes as well. I’m so glad I discovered snuff. I truly pity the cigarette junkies who continue to puff themselves to death.

Yes, its a great thing to be free of them. The nice thing about snuff is that it is also a hobby, comparable to pipe smoking. I have a modest collection of snuff boxes, different snuffs, do some blending etc - a far cry from the boring addiction that is cigarette smoking. It could also save many lives, but the criminals we elect are unable to deal with that.

Oh, don’t get me started on elected officials. We are only one small tier step away from Communist or Fascist sytems. Our society is only interested in making money and selling swill to the masses. If snuff ever catches on and becomes popular or politically correct then our glory days of cheap and archaic indulgence is over. Meanwhile I’ll happily sniff away and watch the media fed cattle of society smoke themsleves into premature death, thereby making more room for me at the cost of added health care expense.
