That’s a big gamble for someone who’s never tried the brand! I expect you’ll enjoy most of them though.
I consider every snuff a gamble. No matter how many reviews you read, it all boils down to your nose and your taste.

I’ve only tried the Yellow Crest and the Top Mill SP. I enjoy them but only when I’m outside. I get a definite farm smell from them and it confuses me when I’m indoors too much to enjoy them. Weird, I know.
The Yellow Crest and SP No. 1 High Mill are Samuel Gawith, not to be confused with Gawith Hoggarth.

No worries, it can be confusing.
About a year a go someone put together a group buy and we got the Top Mill and Irish HDT - they were very pleasant. There is however something about them that is simply lacking. I have heard them described as having a ‘chemical’ taste several times so maybe their flavouring method is to blame? EDIT: Ive just realised we are taling about Gawith Hoggarth!
Kendal Brown is the only GH snuff that I have tried to date and I like it a lot. In fact, I like far more than the F&T by the same name. Both are quality, I’m just not a big fan of floral snuff. GH’s rendition is very solid (not really a natural snuff IMO but one where the added scents take a back seat to the tobacco and accentuate it).
So far I am rather impressed with GH snuffs. Mind you, I’ve only had 3: Whisky, Kendal Brown, and SP. All 3 are wonderful.

I’ve tried 15 of their range and there are three I always keep in stock:- Cinnamon dry Orange sea breezes
I’ve now tried a total of 5. They are all quality snuffs. I have not encountered anything “chemical” yet. There are plenty of other snuffs made by more popular brands that I find very “chemical” tasting. I think it all boils down to our different taste.
Gawith Hoggarth isn’t bad at all~ I love their CM, JASMIN, and WILD MINT. All quality snuff!
Some of the fruity and floral ones have that “chemical” taste. I thought Jasmin was the worst culprit. I find most of them to be good though.
Received a Kendal Brown by GH today - it has exactly the same horrible chemical aroma as the others from the manufacturer. It’s too disgusting and goes in the bin immediately! Will not buy that stuff ever again…

@cstokes Arrghh! Mom did always like you best! (Smother’s Brothers punch line.) Found it interesting that their sign uses the American spelling “licensed”. I still have yet to try any of these. Lack of funds and a handy 25g. option are to blame.
I really like GH Kendal Brown too.
