Generally speaking, which do you prefer, and what are your favorites?
I assume that their snuff operations have now merged along with their pipe tobaccos?

It’s like asking what do you prefer, water or food?
Well, let’s say SG is the water and GH is the food…
:-?

Both KB style snuff (plain).
I shall let you know when their combined website is up to date and we know what their final products are. :-S
I’ve yet to discover a GW snuff that is better than it’s SG equivalent. Haven’t tried many, but for me, the comparison is useless. SG snuffs are just very hard if not impossible to equal. Kendal Brown, Scotch Black, Elmo’s Reserve, Black Rappee, Irish D Light, London Brown, Black Coffee.
@Chico, what I expressed earlier was a purely personal point of view. Other than this, I wouldn’t buy any snuff that is not in a vacuum sealed tin, the 10g tapboxes are horrible and the only ones I make an exception for are the schmaltzers but those are a different story, as they are oil moistened and usually conserve their flavour pretty well.
@Gilliat - eek. There goes a lot of my plans for experimentation. The 10g boxes are so cheap. Is the problem that they dry out or lose flavor or both? Can rehydration help?
They will lose flavour by being dried out, but rehydration might get them back to 80-90% of fresh. If you want to try the tap boxes, make sure you have a better container to transfer them into, and then rehydrate them in the new container. For best results if rehydrating a full 10g, leave in your tupperware box (if doing it indirect) for a couple of days, then when you take it out, leave for another couple of days in it’s own closed container for the moisture to even distribute throughout. This will get you some nice, cheap, usable snuff - just remember that this dried out and rehydrated stuff still won’t be as good as proper fresh stuff.
@Chico I second that. There is a world of difference between the 10g tapboxes and the 25g vacuum-sealed tins.
@50ft_trad I’ll try that, but will scale back my first order, I think. And I’ll get sealed tins for the less experimental ones.
The good thing about snuff is if you don’t like it, there is most likely someone willing to trade or buy it from you. If you don’t like it, put it up for trade in the bst.
