Fighting TAD

I think it’s impossible to have too much snuff. Just indulge your gluttony to within your budget and always try and buy bulk.

600 grams of Abraxas is 518.00 dollars plus shipping.

Just messing with you pal.

No problemo

@OscarWabbit - I agree! I have a sizable monthly snuff budget. It’s my play money. I don’t golf or gamble…I snuff

Well, today marks the end of week 3 of my TAD challenge. I still haven’t bought one bit of tobacco, but I have had access to cigs over the weekend, which makes me realize how much I’m still attracted to using them. It’s bizarre how something, even if you can be full satiated by something else, can still call to you like a siren.

I still have RYO left if you can believe it, and my SNUS supply has dwindled, but will last the week without a problem. Snuff is still my favorite way to get nicotine, but sometimes SNUS is just a lot more convenient. I was at a hockey game over the weekend, and it was just a lot more simple to pop a portion in my mouth than it was to try and sniff mass quantities of snuff while in such a crowded environment.

I have asked my wife, my only remaining source of cigs, to keep them away from me. She is threatening to quit entirely, which would make finally giving the things up a lot more simple.

One one week left on my 4 week challenge, and I’m happy that my tobacco usage has changed so much. I’m getting so comfortable in it that I think the only thing I want to buy is more SNUS before my stack of coupons expire.

I’m a peace loving man.  I hate fighting of any kind.  This includes TAD.

lol

Well, I completed my 4 week TAD challenge. I went the entire time without buying a single tobacco product. Here is what I learned from the experience:

  • Favorite daily pipe tobacco: Captain Black
  • Favorite Daily Snuffs: Grunt, HDT, and Medic

I also learned that I really can be satisfied without the cigs, that Skoal SNUS is badass, and that I don’t really have to buy ever tobacco on the market. My usual budget for 4 weeks of tobacco was about $150 (yeah, I bought and used a lot), but not buying anything in 4 weeks showed me that I have way too much on hand of things that I can get locally. I also got to appreciate what tobaccos I have a lot more because I was forced to use things that I was just trying once and letting sit. I found some really good stuff after being forced to smoke/sniff some things that I had only tried once, buy experiencing it a few more times gave me a better appreciation for it.

My snuff usage is up, my snus usage is about the same, I used less of my pipe once I realized how much I preferred Captain Black over many others, and my cigs usage is almost gone. I do enjoy a nicely rolled bit of Bali Shag once in a while, but we’re all allowed to have out dirty little pleasures.

I think the only thing I have on my ‘have to buy right now’ list is some more pipe tobacco. I’ll probably get some more snus too because I’m really low and I have a big stack of bogo coupons sitting on my desk.

I don’t know if this has been interesting for anyone else, but it’s been a real learning experience for me. I’m not planning on doing it again…ever, but I think doing it once (in the heart of my tobacco buying sickness) has been a good thing.

Dogwalla you hit it on the head why i prefer not to keep too much tobacco on hand.
