Abtraxas is Baxas on MrSnuff

A heads up: Abraxas arrived at the warehouse. 200 units. I put it live 1 minute ago.

It’s here: https://mrsnuff.com/store/abraxas-c-100\_215.html

Thanks,

Dave

@mr.snuff Mildly off topic, and yet somehow not, any ETA on the Six Photo stuff?  Also, as a part of the Six Photo shipment, will the 50g QSnuff products be available at that point?  Between Six Photo and Abraxas, my next order is going to be a doosey…

Sorry, Dave. I can’t commit to buying any until I receive my free sample for evaluation from the Head Honcho…

:))

I think SG’s 2011 Christmas Snuff is flattery indeed by imitation of the remarkable Abraxas. Good on the Honcho for starting a race to the top rather than the other place where so much baccy seems to go to.

The samples went out today as we got behind with packing and whatnot.

I am very pleased with this batch, its a fraction lighter due to natural variations in the leaf and is a touch punchier with the Vitamin N:)

What is the SG like?

Quantity in stock is dropping fast!

Snuffster…well you know Abraxas? LOL.

Those guys at SG know how to put a good one together, goes without saying.  I’d say Abraxas is a finer quality snuff.  A nicer, finer flour, deeper richer and more subtle.

But the 2011 is flattery indeed to your snuff imho.  Big, fruity (in the nicest possible) way.  Good stuff, as you’d expect.  Whose the ‘nose’ in SG?  - hope you’ve got a patent out. The difference is that I could easily tell SG snuff anywhere, I think,  just from their grind and baccy.

Better hooters than mine might be able to tell you where the flavours differ.  But I’m a pipe smoker as you probably know and don’t really trust me own nose.  Thanks again for leading the field in sheer quality and leading imho to this vg variant.

just ordered it abraxas for the first time. If its half as good as the Santana album with the same name I will be pleased, but from what I hear it will probably be far beyond the word good.

I’m just crackin open my second jar… oh yes!  Best trade I’ve ever made Snufster. This stuff for Cope? Lovely. I’ve been very frugal with the first jar. Two months? Fresh from the jar…no contest!

@petersuki, Thanks my friend, I am very  flattered. It’s hard to describe what it feels like spending 30 odd years taking, collecting and reading about snuff and then to have my own brand well received by fellow snuffers. Humbling, certainly. I fret and worry over each batch that it will be good and not let people down. Each batch has turned out slightly different because even using the exact same tobacco and ingredients there always seems to be a unique variation. Maybe that’s what ‘handmade’ is all about? I guess if I got it contract made it would always be exactly the same, but it wouldn’t be my Abraxas anymore.

@TomStrasbourg, if I could make anything half as good as Carlos’s playing I would be retiring very soon:)

Actually, I just looked up the SG snuff and they decribe the flavours as brandy, blackberries and vanilla. Well, they got one of my ingredients! In all seriousness I’m sure they have never heard of Abraxas tho, lol.

relax.  It’s GOOD.

Abraxas already has its place in the long and illustrious history of snuff. In a couple of thousand years they’ll be trawling through these records trying to recreate it.

I couldn’t hold out, had to get in on the second batch.  Maybe it will make it in before Christmas…?

I totally called it. hahaha

@petersuki hopefully it will not come to that. Nigel has a philanthropic side to him, and will surely see that the recipe outlives him. I’m greedly rationing to myself what I have left from the first batch. I wish I wasn’t such a skinflint. rrr!

Xander.  I know exactly what you mean.  I see it was at the beginning of September that I opened the first jar.  I’ve had a pinch or two vitually everyday since.  Still some left in the jar, and it’s still good and kept very well.  But when I opened the fresh jar -oomph!  I still have a hunch SG are flaterring Snuffster with their Christmas 2011.

What!!!

No more already? Last time I cheked there were some 130 tins left. This must be a mistake!

If not, who did buy all the Abraxas?

Curiouser and curiouser.

I was still waiting to try my sample before I bought some. Oh well, I will learn my lesson and order quick on the next batch.

@OscarWabbit Did you buy 130 jars of Abraxas?

I am really sorry. Someone just bought all of the Abraxas stock and it shipped out before I noticed. If I had got to it in time I would have stopped it and restricted their purchase.

Another annoyance is that I just sent out an email about the Abraxas competition. The competition will still go on, but let’s just say you now have about 3 months to submit an entry.

I am looking into the possibility of adding a limit on how many of a particular product a person can buy. If it is relatively simple we’ll add the feature to mrsnuff.com V.4.0 (coming soon).
