I just got a sample today. The scenting is awesome. I wonder if there might be a little ambergris in there.
I happily got mine today also. Only had two pinches so have not formed any kind of opinion yet, beyond it is not boring.
@Vito445 All I see is “on order” on mr. snuff. Nothing about Abraxas Club though.
Abraxas Club has not been released yet. It is a new snuff that is in the pre-release phase. My understanding of it…
@Snuffster I got mine too. Thank you for this nice sample. The snuff is delicious with it´s complex taste and and small. Very good.
Hmm - this sounds really good - will have to look out on Mr Snuff’s site for the next batch!
Snuffster kindly sent me some Abraxas 2 to sample. This is slightly darker in colour and unlike
the Abraxas 1 was mainly fine, with a few lumps but this is an even coarse base. On opening the plastic jar and taking a sniff
I get an aroma of blancmange.
In the
nose I get chocolate, orange and some sherry with a good taste of strong
tobacco.
This is a very good snuff and
well done Nigel.
I received my sample yesterday and it hasn’t been beyond arms reach since then. Wonderful scent indeed and thank you very kindly, snuffster. Will be ordering some asap.
I’m with you there! @greengrass
Make sure you decant the samples to a snuff box as you won’t get the aroma from these narrow neck plastic jars. I recommend that you loosen the amount required and put into a pocket snuffbox and carry it about or leave it somewhere warmish for a couple of hours. I find silver snuff boxes work best, or at least metal, as they get the ideal temperature for using snuff, which I personally find is just a touch below normal body temperature. When this is released it will be back in the original glass jars btw.
Very true.
Did @Snuffster make this snuff? If so I can’t believe how poorly I was on the wrong page here
XD
Hopefully I will get my sample tomorrow
Personally I prefer the original glass jars. They look better, seal better and are much easier to pinch from and lets face it if your going to pay that much for a fancy snuff it best come in a fancy glass jar, not some shitty little plastic one.
I promise I will remember that remark.
Received my sample today, thanks Snuffster! I will post my impressions of it next week after I spend a bit of time with it.
You know snuffster, I took the liberty of reducing a bit of the second batch I bought from Dave, the original Abraxas, and I can highly recommend a minute with the mortar and pestle! I really like the nose feel afterwards.
Thank you so much for your comments.
Finally got my sample today. Yeah!
Will let it decant a bit before reporting. So far what I can say is it’s a pretty dark, coarse snuff with high humidity content and it has a lot of ammonia to air out.
