I have one nostril that’s less cooperative than the other. I use that one for toasts and scotches.
I have noticed Samuel Gawith Apple to be especially good for relaxing the sinuses. Also all the Virginia based snuffs that Jaap bes makes at the DeKralingse windmills create a very thin run for me, nice and clearing. As a beginner there is a lot to look forward to. I believe the nose becomes more obedient in due time. Regardless, once you are addicted you won’t hear it’s fussing as loudly.
Well, in regards to the deviated nasal spectum; I can honestly say it is not that! I’ve only had the problem since coming up to Scotland for Christmas. Reason being is, whilst back home I wasn’t taking a pinch that often. Maybe 4-5 times a day at most, however now on holiday I’ve been shoveling it up my nose faster than Daniella Westbrooks could snort the white stuff… I’ve noticed that the George IV and Lowen-Prise are somewhat clumpy, so if I’m shoveling it up there regularly It is going to block me up… I’ll but some other stuff and give them a whirl and see whhat is kind to me. Some of Wilsons stuff and Toque as recommended and maybe some F&T for some of their more traditional stuff. In regards to the tabacco free snuff. I don’t think I’'ll be trying that as I do rather enjoy the rush from the nicotine. I don’t have any other bad habbits and I don’t enjoy smoking so as long as I keep too the snuff (plus it’s bloody cheap!) then I’ll be ok wiith that. Anyway, thanks allot ladies and gentlemen. Rather excited about the thought of buying some more snuffs and experiences the smellls and tastes. Thanks everyone.
I’ve found the 5 Photo Himalaya doesn’t clog me like most menthols do.
Yes, I’d say it’s advisable to blow into a tissue or clean out your nose with some water/q-tip after you’ve been snuffing for a while. If you think about it, your nose can really only take up so much snuff before it starts to be clogged, plus swabbing out your nose will clean your ‘palate’ for more snuff! I usually rotate moist and dry snuffs according to how my nose is behaving. If my nose is being wet/stuffy I take it as an opportunity to go nuts with a scotch… Ahem, and if I’m feeling real dry in there I like to go for something more moist. I’ve found moist snuffs will clog me up more quickly than dry ones, too, so there’s more nose-blowing required- but don’t worry, if your nose is destined to be more cooperative with a fine dry snuff, there ARE perfumey ones, so you won’t have to give up your sensory experience for ease of use!
