Paul Shallbetter our wonderfully wicked Uncle Squinty.
It is my belief that he is particularly sensitive to nuances and complexities in many snuffs and is good at articulating those. I don’t know for sure, but it is possible that his being blind may help with this… he really is a good reviewer, in my opinion.
Well, no. I agree he is a good reviewer, and a likable personality. But I have a friend of the family who is blind and she assures me her remaining senses are no better than sighted people. No blind person is like Daredevil. The only difference is that they pay more attention to their other senses which can make a difference. But we can do it too, if we concentrate and tune out all but what we want to pay attention to.
I like both Snuff Begins, and Uncle Squinty. ‘An Englishman Smokes’ is good too.

Very true. Most people think we block out our senses to pay attention to sight or sound, but really people are more focused on the thoughts in their heads and only pay attention to what they can see enough not to bump into anything. If you’re not focused on anything in particular you’ll find all your sense perceptions are working in full force at all times. It’s automatic, so you don’t have to do anything for them to work. You have to *stop* doing things to recognize they are already working.
