I’ve been wanting to try Singleton’s for awhile now. Worth it, or should I just stock up on Wilson’s (Sharrow) SM instead?
@Robert, Singleton’s is totally different from the Wilson’s SM. The menthol is weak and it’s got, for my nose, a schmalzer like quality. I’m talking about the Singleton’s in the round green plastic container. You should have both Wilson’s SM and Singleton’s!!
There are actually 3 Singleton’s. A German one (formerly English) and two South African ones. The one I posted a pic of is the South African “Original Super Menthol” that Pieter sent me. Later he sent me one in a Taxi size tub (green with black top) called simply “Super Menthol”. Both are made by Van Erkoms of S. Africa, and both are quite different from each other. The German one is made by Arnold André, or actually its made by Swedish Match but owned by Arnold André. I’ve not had that one yet, but it used to be quite common in the UK and even worldwide. It was once made by Singleton & Cole of England. Now its pretty much just sold on the German market. Its in a silver colored spin tin.
@Pieter & Xander Thanks! It was the SA Singleton’s I was thinking of. Admittedly part of it is the graphics which look about 50 years out of date on the packaging, but also because I’m an insatiable Menthol head. A mild Menthol would actually be up my alley.
