Is there any possible way that we could organize against getting the PACT ACT repealed? It seems unrealistic, and from the consumer stand point, the laws of capitalism dictate buying things at the best price
Sorry about that last post…I dont know why my formating is going all screwy
I think the more likely way forward is to get snus declared a Harm Reduction product and then work to have it exempt from the PACT restrictions
But for now…………… this does not seem very likely
Its about paying our US taxes. Who pays their snus taxes that doesn’t buy their snus from Northerner? And how do you go about doing so? This is what would make us law abiding adults. It is not the venders responsibility. For all we know Northerner is keeping that money for themselves.
In my state, and I suspect many others, we are supposed to pay state taxes for internet purchases from out of state vendors such as Amazon. Sure is tough to keep up with all those purchases for my state taxes…
@Vito445, The PACT Act was passed through both houses of Congress with a huge majority. Something like 25 congressman in both houses combined voted against it. It was done on a voice vote so we cannot even tell who voted which way. Needless to say I doubt we have any chance of overturning the law. More so since the Government now knows how much more money it’s bringing in.
Snifs is right the way forward for snus is deal with the FDA, which is totally different than the PACT Act, and get snus and snuff rated as reduced harm. Unfortunately that is going to be a very long, very expensive uphill fight. With the entire weight of the FDA anti tobacco zealots fighting us every step of the way.
What about shipping to Canada? any experiences?
Looking for some reasonable shipping prices…
I’m in Canada and I get all my snus from Northerner, haven’t had a problem yet and shipping is cheaper than Mr.Snuff.
Going through this now and it all stinks. I use Northerner mostly to now I am at least right on the tax aspect of things and being in NC it is not a big deal anyway. Northerner is cheaper if you don’t feel like making a massive bulk order. Plus there are always free shipping deals from Northerner depending on quantity or a coupon.
However for the ultimate in bulk freshness there are probably better options, same goes for selection. Buying snus just stinks right now, no way around it. My consumption is low and I use mostly los so that helps. Dip is just a poor substitute for snus.
Ken
Finland sucks! snuss has been banned totally in this retarded arctic country! they talk about health issues, but big corporation tobacco lobby is what it’s all about (and products like nicotine chewing gum is a Medicine (from which you’ll get goverment refunds) and manufacturers are surprice! big farmaceutical companies). Finland is becoming a police state . … is this some kind of european development in generally?
@nuusku Yes, there is an EU-wide ban on snus. Sweden has an exemption, but otherwise the health-fascists rule.
