I love to play around with this. still use part grain part malt concentrates. would like to move up to full grain one of these days. My son does it all and has about a dozen mini kegs he rotates. Seems to be a pretty popular guy in his neighborhood of a hot weekend night…
@thorgrimnr thanks for the tip. I will be using a straining bag made of cheesecloth, most recipes I’ve found call for this. I have an old wine making book from the 50’s and the gooseberry wine recipe in it says to just mash them up in the primary and add your water, sugar, yeast etc. directly but I think I’ll err on the side of caution and use a bag instead.

Ditto, having all the delicious beer and wine I could drink wasn’t such a good idea with my addictive personality. More power to those who can drink responsibly, it’s a great hobby.
