However one takes snuff the method is always correct if the snuff ends up where it should. That said, I’ve noticed from the internet that pinchers who use their right hand often start with the right side and then the left whereas it ‘should‘ always be left followed by right with the remaining snuff between a curved thumb aligned with the nose and forefinger crossing over the thumb. Everything is reversed if using your left hand. Anyway, that’s how I and others of my generation (and before) generally took it.

@PhilipS2 I do this too! Left nostril first and then the right. Pinching with my right hand.

I must admit, that being right-handed, I also hit the right nostril first. My left has never worked as well, so it requires a much more authoritative insufflation than does the right. So, hit the right easy, then hit the left hard.

I pinch right hand for right nostril and left hand for the left one and use my middle finger to pinch the other nostril closed.

Same here and I didn’t know that was the ‘right’ way. Its just the way that felt natural to me.
