@bob @oilmaster @hooked If it’s a party for snuffers to meet and exchange knowledge and try different kinds of snuff from different countries it would be amazing, no one is coming to prove he is the best, just enjoying the beauty and the art!
definatily. It’s kind of like the diffrence between a picnic and the hot dog eating contests. I’ll add not to watch either when you’re deprived. You’ll feel a special type of hatred.
@hooked @bob @Primaster Well (imho) I think that competitions ruin everything all the time, put you under pressure and destroy your enjoyment of anything … why people always want to prove that they are the best ? Why not just enjoy our hobbies and try all the beautiful things in life smooth and easy without trying to push ourselves to the edge ?
well put
true (both comments).
Same reason Gallagher doesn’t do well in places with food shortages.
Are you guys familiar with the pipe smoking contest where the winner is the one who keeps their pipe smoking the longest without re-lighting?
@Mr. O Ya I am familiar with that … I smoke pipes occasionally and I always like to watch youtube reviews and I passed by this contest before.
kougy- yeah it sounds kinda fun. I know at least one person who’s been in it. I guess you pay a modest amount of money, which gets you entry in the contest, a shiny new pipe, a wooden tamper, matches and a small packet of the years official contest tobacco. I can’t remember which pipe show(s?) this happens at, but it intrigues me…
the pipe contest actualy sounds fun. The one match light is seriously the best smoke I’ve ever had. perfect through out in a sublime way and practicing for that is mucho fun. It’s in the pack job.
I believe it takes place at one of the two larger shows in the country. I can’t remember off the top of my head, but I can call a pal with my pipe club to find out…just so the info is out there I don’t think I’ve ever had a good one match light, maybe with practice I could do it
I’ve had it a few times and it’s always seems magical. It’s more a good thing to shot for then to expect. The less you light you pipe the better the smoke. If youpractice and try to get it down to a one match light. You probably won’t but you’ll probably light it less which is better.
it seems the last snuff campionship did make it trought the internet http://totallycoolpix.com/2012/07/the-world-tobacco-sniffing-championship/?utm\_source=twitterfeed&utm\_medium=twitter
Even more stuff about that event and a video about snuff bottles from China and other stuff: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/11/at-world-snuff-championsh\_n\_1663385.html
Hahahaha…great links. The guy in pic 2 of the first link looks like he is really enjoying himself. That’s hotdog eating competition face.
@Prismaster The pics are really funny, I want to attend an event like that one day but just as a spectator
bob- I suppose it’s a fun thing to practice! I’m just totally in the routine of the “light, tamp, relight” method, so that’s at least 2 lights. But an old dog can learn a new trick I guess…
well the first light in that case doesn’t count in my opinion. Though you can do that with one match.
This is kind of like trying to eat 60+ hotdogs in 10 minutes at the Coney Island Nathans competition.
Thank’s for the benifit of the call. Maybe they have them long-ass sulfur-free sticks, maybe I could with one of them. I heard that one of the best-if not the best in the competition is a woman, but they weren’t letting her be eligible (I think I could have worded that better, but you get the drift)…
@prismaster this is not suposed to be an erotic mesage board! Maybe its just me…Good photography anyway…
Ok, I want to compete for the honor of snuffhouse.org nexr year. I want bob with me. What snuff do they use? I need to start practicing. Do they pay fo airfare and hotel?
