1970 Snuff Championship documentary video, enjoy :)

On 30 May 1970 was the second Frankish snuff championship held in Kucha. Here is a historical document.
N.B: There is no sound!

You notice they use the finger nail of the index finger, a sure technique to draw the best mustache

Amazingly bizarre, amateur cinefilm, hence no sound. That era where everyone wore something like a suit for everything from digging in the garden to funerals. The boxes that they are using appear to be ones that you could get until the 80’s made of a bakelite type material, the same pattern as the Bernard’s boxes of today. They look to be sniffing a schmaltzer, maybe Bernard’s?. A nice snapshot of another world.

@Snuffster I like the black and white era and the snuff boxes they use are really nice and maybe I will get myself one or two of those.

Holy mother of… 0:55 Would had never believed that a human being can endure as much snuff (schmalzler?) in so little time without, at least, break a sweat   ¬.¬U

How much can be the amount he takes? , 4, 6g maybe?  in 20 secs ???

Better I´ll go for some schmalzler :stuck_out_tongue:

@Wulfensteinsson Ya it’s shmalzler and I think it’s more than 6 g :slight_smile:

the trick is if you have that much snuff in your nose at one time you will not actualy have all of the snuff being absorbed. Since it will be blocked from the membrane by well all the snuff in your nose. Though it would eventualy be absorbed. It just takes more time to absorb the snuff so it allows for a longer buzz not a stronger buzz.

@bob I agree it will take longer to absorb all that, but the question is how you can shove all that in your nose without the urge of sneezing or blowing your nose ?

A sword swallower blocks the gag reflex, maybe it’s a related conditioning, don’t most of us just do the same but with a lesser level of sensation to ignore? They must just have enough endurance to get there, I can’t figure out any tricks to it personally, unless maybe using a neti pot or nasal spray helps to develop that ability. Probably one reaches a plateaux(spelling?) where the burn and sneeziness stop increasing.

@ Mr.O That would hurt to sneeze while sword swallowing! I am sure after the race they blow most of that schmalzler out.Schmalzlers are yummy so thick bodied and fruity. I have not tried to shove 5 grams up my nose as fast as possible. But if there was a prize like a free tee shirt I might give it a go.

Ouch! I don’t know what would be worse, a sneeze, a cough, or hiccups…

I would love a cool shirt from one of those! But it would have to have a snuff pocket.

Here’s a more updated version of the championships. Not sure what year this is from but when I was younger some lady had won that year and I had no idea why.

@oilmaster Thanks for the link… I like to attend an event like that but not to compete  5 gm of snuff in less than 60 seconds is not something I would do even if I the prize is big… I just wanna watch and learn and snuff with the audience

Have we ever had one of the competitors post on Snuffhouse?

not that we know of. I get the feeling it’s not something real snuffers tend to do.

well but somehow i get the feeling that these people like snuff to some extend similair to ours

@hooked @bob @Primaster Well (imho) I think that competitions ruin everything all the time, put you under pressure and destroy your enjoyment of anything … why people always want to prove that they are the best ? Why not just enjoy our hobbies and try all the beautiful things in life smooth and easy without trying to push ourselves to the edge ?

well put

I completely agree, snuff should be enjoyed leisurely. Where as in this competition, they aren’t snuffing but are packing the schmalzler in.

I also agree with @kougy’s remarks on competition, everyone has their own pace and life isn’t a race.

Yeah, but we are always looking for a legitimate reason to party, too.  I imagine a lot of snuffing is going on, on the premises during the “Championship”, or at least, us purists would hope so!
