Hi fellow snuffhouse members, A zit appearead in both of my nostrils after more intensive use of snuff lately. It is quite painful (when I touch it), but it doesnt hurt at all when I leave it alone, also it doesnt really affect my snuffing process. Just wondering if someone maybe has had a similar thing or maybe someone know what exacly that is and what should I do.

I’ve had that before snuff as well as since I’ve started snuffing. As long as it doesn’t look infected or anything it should be fine.

Zits happen, ingrown hairs are worse. Saline [Salt water] may help dry it up faster. Or an OTC medication for zits; use sparingly

Happened to me, too. I blame it on grubby fingers. Antibiotic ointment cleared it up in a couple of days.

Because you are introducing a foreign and potentially irritating substance, and because hair follicles can be sensitive, it is not unusual to have a flare up of one sort or another. From time to time I develop a bit of a sore spot, but I believe its because I poke around a bit too much when snuff accumulates and doesn’t want to let go when I clear my nostrils. Great advice has been given- gentle cleaning and occasional saline (or a steaming shower) does wonders to keep my nose fit.

On a similar note I’ve been getting a very sore nose recently. A few scabs inside a nostril and the outside looks like I’ve had a cold (I havent). Might be the weather I guess. It’s very cold and dry here (UK) at the moment. I’m not a heavy snuff user.

yes this seems to happen more in Winter than Summer…so dry and the dried up tobacco can be irritating if it’s in there too long too
