Being new, I was wondering what some of you old snuffers use when out and about. Right now I have a bullet and will sometimes carry a tin. But I like to have a day or two of sheer variety, but I have no idea what to use.

Im not an old timer. But this is on my keychain, and I carry 3 bullets with me and atleast a 10g tin just in case.

This thing holds quite a bit surprisingly (Im guessing at least 5 grams), and its my first aid kit of snuff. (Air tight and water tight). Mine is silver btw.

5g smash box and a snot rag. That’s it.

At the moment I carry a little canvas army bag with me containing a couple of 5g smash boxes, a snus can and a hanky. Today I have also thrown in an 8g can of Anarkali.
I always have a snuff box on my desk at work as well.

5 triple techs in my laptop bag. But out and about only one Triple Tech or two or three bullets on the golf course. Oh - and a hanky.

About 10 different snuffs in a Crown Royal bag.

I carry 2 or 3 small tins of snuff, medicated and toast, with me and a tin of makla. Some snuffs I only take at home.

When i first started I promptly picked up a few nice wooden snuff boxes and metal bullet. I was very self concious of using snuff in public with a pinch or off the back of the hand method. I was afraid people would think I was picking at my nose or doing rails of coke off my hand…I found the bullet tricky to use at first because even the lightest of inhalations would catch my throat. I also would decant my new snuff into the snuff boxes to be more “professional”

I have learned that there are many ways to take snuff and you can find a way that works for you, so it’s not catching the back of your throat. So I don’t use the bullet nearly anymore. I also stopped using my wooden snuff boxes, because it dried out my snuff or the aroma would drift away…so

I just take a ziploc bag with about 6 different kinds every day now, a nice handkerchief, maybe my spoon…and take pinches whereever I am. If someone has an issue or a question or a funny look I’m happy to share with them what’s going on.

So out and about, just grab your favorite tin at the moment, grab a nice handkerchief ( not white of course ) and away you go. Poschl’s tap boxes are excellent for ease and portability. Gletscher Prise comes to mind.

I have often thought about making a small “ammo belt” loaded with snuff bullets, but that would just be silly.

currently mine is just an old Marlboro Snus tin filled with whatever scotch I have at the moment and my brown hanky. I used to use a small glass bottle with a rubber stopper but I recently got the pinch method down so it’s not so messy.

At work, I always bring with me 4 or 5 items, usually reused Toque tins with; 

An SP

An Indian yellow type (Super Chetak, Swastik or Sparrow)

A Toast

A Plain and coarse

When there is a fifth, it’s usually a German tap box or a plastic bottle filled with some Schmaltzer

I like the fact that each time I get to reach my tins I actually have to pause a bit, look at my choices and pick the one to my liking.

i just crap a tin or two. at least one tin is in a pocket of both jackets everytime to secure my steady supply in all life situations. ^^

Snuff box in left front pocket and burgundy hanky in left rear pocket. That’s it. Decant each morning right before I leave for the office.

Like @thorgrimnr said, Poschl tapboxes are very convenient for using snuff when out and about. I often refill empty Poschl boxes with other snuffs too - gently prise them apart and they can be reused several times. Ozona President boxes are particularly good for this purpose, as the mirrored case means you can check your nose afterwards, so you’re not walking around in public with a dusty nose!

I carry a Tobacco backpack. It contains-one flat, pipe Tobacco, ryo, snuff, chew, dip, makla, pipes, a good book, various adhesives, hardcandy, a ponch, self stable food suffs, etc. This goes to work w/me each day. I like to always have whatever the mood strikes. When i’am out and about though, it is usally just a kurchive and one smashbox.

True. I get nervous when i have less than a six months supply of nicotine on my persons. Plus, i like to have anything needed for a given situation. It helps to have understanding co-workers.

On a day to day basis, I carry just one snuffbox and two brown handkerchiefs. Mostly at the moment, I use a lightly mentholated/camphorated toast as my all day and now and again just a plain coarse snuff. My variety time is evenings, when I indulge in snuffs that I would not care to take throughout the day. 

never take only one snuff with you. What if you drop or spill it.

One slightly battered silver snuffbox filled with something strong and plain - most usually quit or a toque toast. Very occasionally one of my own snuffs.

Are you guys washing your hankees everyday? Or do you only use it for sneezes catching you off guard. Ive found when I want or need to clear my nose I can just pop into the bathroom quick and use TP,

I just use mine to wipe dust mostly, but it does come in handy when you are out and about and surprise attacked by a sneeze.

So I have decided to try just carrying 1 tin of choice and one of the containers @johnny suggested for a scotch. I will leave my snuffing craziness to when I am home.

@luxoaorta, did you try out of those containers already or just ordered one?

Its handy as hell having it on my keychain.

I found a head shop that sold them.

I carry an igloo cooler that holds a six pack of sodas, with about 10-20 various snuffs with me at all times. There has been a time or two that I left the house with just one or two, but that has been very rare. I’m still nursing my habit and too afraid to get caught without much choice.

@bob Luckily, I live in a part of the world where I can go to to corner shop and buy more, all be it from a limited selected of JH Wilsons  or JH Wilsons. Can’t think when was the last time I spilt my snuff stash though.

Generally I’ll take a Toque or a WoS in its original tin in my lunchbag, but I always carry my Patrick Collins snuffbox loaded with scotch as my main to-go…

I normally take 2/3 small tins, a smashbox on occasion and always the handkerchief.

A toque 10g tin or my airtight two dose plastic pill box and a camo handkerchief.

I went out to the casino last nite with some Toque chocolate, Spanish Gem and my little snuff tin full if Carharts Sweet. Ended up only using Chocolate for the nite.

I have one drawer of my jeweler’s bench dedicated to snuff and there are usually a few on the top of the bench itself. I’m rarely away from home/work but when I am I just bring a couple of bullets or my triple-tec.

I tend to bring as much as I can. Hate nothing more then really wanting a snuff I know I have at home but not having it with me.

I’m with bob and pot poe…I carry a little of everything I have with me in a wide-top, double-zippered bag with other items.  All in a shoulder bag with stuff carried for work (lunch, hard hat, water and various knives).  I like variety…it is the spice of life.

Yep, gotta have a selection pretty much at all times. I think that’s why my flannel shirts have two big pockets.

Normally just one or two snuffs.  If I go on vacation or something I’ll bring 4 mason jars with QUIT, Grand Cairo, Gold label, and Tom Buck.
But if I’m out and about normally something like Gold Label or Grand Cairo.  Love those…
