I’d be happy to have that collection tucked away in my own cupboards. But where the hell is the Dholakia White?!?

Ha lol man haven’t tried that one yet. I’m sure my collection is pretty small actually. Compared to the other snuff kings/queens in here.

Heck, I can’t come and visit; there is no White Elephant , F&T HDT or Toque USA Whiskey & Honey.   =)) That is a nice start though. Not that I would advocate using any of the above mentioned.

My advice. Buy Old Mill by the large jar.

@Basement Shaman Ran out of F&T HDT & Toque’s USA Whiskey Honey, need more I do like them. But I never tried the White Elephant yet. Maybe I should try it. @1holegrouper You are so correct! I can’t get enough of old mill snuffs! I guess I went for assortments of Flavors vs. a few big tins. But trust me man I will from now on lol

Jernej Man you have to get some Old Mills!! That’s the first brand I talk about pretty much when people ask about snuffing and what to get. I recommend others as well as I do like others as well but Old Mills first my favorite snuff house just great products

When you expand your collection, there are some things you need to do, in order to sustain your enjoyment of these snuffs. You’ve got a lot and you need to keep them fresh. First, the artisan snuffs need to be kept in your fridge. particularly the SWS and Old Mill.

Second, get everything into amber glass jars with tight fitting lids. Snuffs lose freshness very quickly. Unlike pipes and cigars, they don’t age well. Go to freundcontainer.com and get some amber glass jars. They will preserve the aroma and moisture of your snuffs for a couple years. Tins just don’t do the job of keeping snuffs fresh, and I assure you they do get stale otherwise. Even the one you put in the fridge. They only need to get into your fridge ASAP because they’ll develop mold with alarming speed otherwise.

I don’t have a huge collection so take this for what it is worth (about 20 different snuffs averaging 50g each)

I have yet to have a snuff stored in a good airtight jar where my hands never touch the product (only snuff spoon) go bad and I don’t ever refrigerate. My fridge doesn’t really have the room to spare. I think the longest time period I have done this is about 18 months and it is as fresh as the day it arrived in the mail.

I think if you don’t transfer your tinned artisan snuffs into a jar then they should be taped and refrigerated but if you put them in a jar and especially if you have the jars in an airtight case of some sort then refrigeration is unnecessary. At least in my experience. The real key is to keep your fingers off of snuff that you don’t intend to completely consume in the next few days and to keep your stored snuff in an airtight and dark room temperature environment to protect the freshness. I tend to quickly deplete my Old Mill stash though compared to others as they are my favorite.

Me too on the Old Mills being used the most lol

I decant everything into Mason Jars or Baby Food Jars all in which are sterilized in boiled water for 10 minutes. Maybe I’m OCD just want to protect my collection. It’s nice to hear other do the same

I’ve been keeping my non-artisan tins sealed with electrical tape and kept in big Tupperware containers (knock on wood).  Hopefully that does well enough, because I’m not down to decant them all.  Once my snuff acquisition slows down a bit, I’ll post my collection here. My girlfriend is pretty impressed by it - just kidding she doesn’t give a crap about snuff.

I have a huge collection of snuff. Most are kept in cigar boxes, plastic containers, tool chests, fridge, freezer, drawers, etc. I couldn’t possibly ever organize them. I’ve tried before and it was a colossal failure. I do try to organize a bit: for example, all my SG snuffs are together, as are my Toques, Indian snuffs, and American. And all my Old Mill snuffs reside in a fine old cigar box. Yes, may do need to be rehydrated, which I do based on need. I have thought of listing them, as other posters have done, but it’s just too overwhelming. I can’t do it. I guess I have a disorganization disorder.
