Do you have a favorite mentholated or medicated snuff? I’ve only been at this for a short time, but so far I really enjoy Bernard Fichtennadel, which has a great piney scent, and Dean Swift’s Dr. Johnson (by the way, does anyone know which WoS snuff this is equivalent to? If I’m not mistaken, it has menthol, camphor AND eucalyptus).

For a pine scent, I like De Kralingse Latakia A/P. For menthol/medicated, I prefer Hedges L260 or McChrystal’s O&G.

O&G is and always will be my go to medicated but I also like L260 as well. If you’re looking for heavily mentholated snuffs, try the poschl range. Other popular medicated is WoS SM Blue which has menthol, eucalyptus and Camphor. It’s OK but I prefer O&G. There are also WoS SM, SM Brown and SM Gold, SM standing for Sharrow medicated. These SM snuffs are OK, but not my favourites. Most vendors do a medicated snuff, so you just have to try them to find your favourites, but for me its o&g and l260.

Fubar medicated. If I am really stuffed up I use Hedges. Add a few McChrystals. Not really big on the Toques.

Favorite? That’s a hard one, because I’m a menthol fan. But if I had to pick, it would be a tossup between McChrystals O&G, Hedges L260, and Gletscher Prise.

I’ve not tried that many yet, but WoS Cherry Menthol is probably a key one for me

it depends on my mood. extreme menthol- jh wilsons 99. everyday strong english- hedges. everyday carry- poschl red bull. and for a more soothing one, gletscher prise, though i havent used it in awhile.

Its got to be McC O&G for me

My favorite is FUBAR medicated. Love it but when I need a bit more clearing power it is hedges followed by McC O&G. I do it just before washing my nose out else I would soak a few bandannas. Love the fubar and consider the others necessities for a clear nose. Now if someone would come up with a snuff to clear my head.

I am finding McC’s Jip to be excellent, following a recommendation on here for something high-menthol and high nic. It fits the bill well. I also like WoS Extra Menthol, but am finding that particularly good for fruit/menthol blends. It’s good on it’s own of course, but just fits the blending bill nicely where the addition of menthol is required. Mix it 50/50 with McC’s Supermint and you have a very aggressive combination! Nice, though.

Haha I mean to say I like it as my second snuff of the day, the steam + the menthol is a neat sensation. My first snuff of the day is usually a scotch because they do a good job of waking me up, I keep a tin next to my pillow, then go downstairs take something minty, it does a good job of cleaning my nose from the previous day’s snuffing.

No menthol in CoC. It’s a spearmint snuff.

Does that still count as medicated? Maybe it does actually?

right now I am really enjoying dholokia ganga (floral scent with some menthol) with a bit of Mccrystals O&G added. clears my nose and smells great

When I think Menthol, I think Ozona President, which has a stronger minty/menthol scent than O&G. Of the suggestions giving here, what would be a “stronger” version of McChrystal’s O&G, something with a longer lasting and more apparent scent?

I love the menthols, I cannot choose just one, but 6 Photo no.66 is my all day everyday snuff, with Poschls and Bernards varieties firm favourites too.

Currently sniffing WoS Raspberry. I’d forgotten how mentholated it is but I do really like it as a candy snuff.

For me, it is between GH CM, a camphor and menthol blend, and WOS Honey Menthol.

O&G,Lowenprise,redbull I did try hedges but it was like burnt rubber maybe I just got a bad tin.I must admit WoS cherry menthol,6 photo 66 and fubar medicated are now high on my list to try.

right now its SM500, or the blend of toque quit, SM500, and viking dark i have in the snuffbox.

Hedges or Toque Menthol for me

I like SM 500 too, and also McC’s JIP! and GH CM. Not often but as a morning open the snoot kind of thing. I’ve yet to try any of SG’s. For non-English, I quite like all the Bernard ones to varying degrees.

I don’t like mentholated or medicated snuff, and my nose too. It makes my nose watering, taking is painful, etc.

@viertel when i first had poschl red bull (my second ever snuff, after cherry) i thought it was strong. now i find it and gletscher prise to be the gentlest pure menthols i own. if you already have a menthol, try softening it down with something like a plain, i like menthols added to loads of things, still get that freshness, without the burn. a few pinches in a snuff box of toque quit and sm500 left about a day, with more of the quit has made my all day gentle snuff now.

Well, just compare menthol that Poschl adds to its snuffs with Bernards/WoS etc menthols. Poschl’s menthol is just… tasteless. Coarse. But the point is that while I love soft, gentle menthol in Amostrinha, Blueberry, Fichtennadel, I just can’t handle pure menthol snuff.

Hedges, McC O&G, and Fubar Medic are my favorite medicated snuffs in order of preference.

FUBAR medic. So far it is the only medicated snuff I can take all day long. There’s something in O&g that makes me clog up immediately upon snuffing. Hedges isn’t as bad but still clogs me up. I think Medic is just mentholated withpught the camphor and eucalyptus?

For a solid menthol push i like Ozona President … and for something more subtle, mixed menthol I enjoy Poschl Grado Cafe … Im a huge coffee lover and suprisingly the menthol in that one opens up the coffee. Counterintuitive maybe, but it works for me ~O)

I’m with Bob on dragun menthol. For Me Any more than a subtle hint of menthol and my allergies go into overdrive and it’s a snot fest.

the lite menthol brings out more scents. It really is like salt which brings out flavors but can easily over power the food you are eating.

For me it’s Sturco. I love the big tobacco flavor under the menthol. Next it’s J&H Wilson’s for the ease of taking. Not a huge fan of menthol, though it has its place.

Recently it’s been FUBAR Medic and RnR for me. Grado Caffe when I’m in the coffee mood. Surprisingly I haven’t used any Packard’s Club in several months.

Use O&G usually but been taking hedges quite a lot recently

McC O&G and Poschl Apricot . I have quite a few others but I find the menthol overpowering especially Red Bull.

McC O&G out of all the ones I have tried. I have some L260 on the way. Ive never tried it before.

SM Blue probably for me but hard to be definite.

Not tried many. O&G is lovely, but Highland Ice hasn’t had a mention and that’s nice, as is JIP. Going to try a few WoS over the next few days, my local tobacconists has Aniseed extra and SM.

Not a big fan of menthols, but Toque Blueberry or Raspberry menthols would be my faves. Even they are a little too heavy on the menthol for me, so I tend to mix in some of the unmentholated versions. WoS Cherry Menthol blows my head off!

WoS Honey Menthol…It doesn’t stop me up like the Ozona President does. The Toque Menthol is a close second for me.

Still sticking to McChrystal’s O&G. The best blended snuff ever!

Now warming to Aniseed Extra and J & H Wilsons Medicated No99. The latter has a good hit of menthol and when that dies down, a subtle SP scent. Both very nice.

My fave thing about anything menthol is when you take a pinch in doors then leave to go outside you get that second hit and a fresh feeling cant beat it

Straight Medicated/Mentholated Snuffs I enjoy, are Ozona President, Dholakia Medicated, 6P Med #66, FUBAR Medic in that order.

O&G for me, every time. There seems to be a lot going on, very skilfully blended and not overpowering. A true classic.

@bryanikon if Ozona President is medicated it is the only medic I enjoy. I feel it rather like Royal with some anis.

@viertel , I only assume its “medicated” due to the nice cooly effect I get from it. I enjoy snuffing President before I go out in the cold. It really wakes you up…

It was Fubar Medicated or McChrystal’s…but since I’ve tried the new and soon to be released Silver Dollar Medicated…it’s taken the top spot.

WoS SM 500 for me. It’s stood the test of time in my rotation. I’ve flirted with several others but SM 500 is the one I reorder.

Right now, my new favorite, is 6 Photo Coffee Kick. Simply amazing snuff. Perfect grind, perfect moisture, outstanding scent!
