Your Choice(s) as to the Perfect Snuff Masterpiece(s)

Of all the snuffs you have ever tried, which snuffs would you consider to be PERFECT, or put a bit differently, a MASTERPIECE. I am not just talking about just another 5 out of 5 or one of your favorites, but more than that, a snuff that is truly transcendent, a classic for the ages, and a uniquely fantastic experience. In your choice of those having attained perfection, please consider everything from “flavor” to nic, to moisture, to grind, to length of flavor, drip–everything you think would be important for a masterpiece to have. Having said that, we understand that nothing is truly perfect, but I am talking about the snuff that approaches perfection so closely that it is close enough practically speaking… or so it would seem today, at this time  For me, the number of perfect snuff masterpieces are more than I would have thought initially, but here they are in any case… Abraxas: Cafe 11, Connoisseur Cerise, FireDrac, & St Casura Sir Walter Scott: Auld Alliance, Creme de Figue, & Mull of Oa Wilsons: Tom Buck Toque: Spanish Gem, Temptation: Mango Cream Wow: Coffee Bite Swedish Match: Taxi Red Dholakia: Swiss Chocolate Bernard: Brasil Doppelt Fermentiert Samuel Gawith: Toffee Admittedly, some of these are more perfect than the others, but all fall within the realm of perfection, but only to me of course. I am not judging for anyone else. I have many more under the favorites category or those I rated 5 out of 5, but these are the true masterpieces. What are your choices? I am not only asking out of curiosity, I am also looking for new snuffs to try. Thanks

Abraxas- Firedrac, St Casura. WoS- Crumbs of Comfort 6p- Medicated 66 GH- Cherry F&T- HDT Viking- Dark Ill work on this list.

McChrystals Original & Genuine, Viking dark and WoS Gold Label.

Agree with most of the above: would have to add FUBAR Grunt - old recipe SG - Black Coffee (old recipe) Molens - Peppermuntsnuif, AP Bernards - Postilion Hoggarth - Irish D Gottard - Rhubarb There are many more…

@fredhanna, Great list! I agree with you on the ones I have tried  Abraxas: Cafe 11, Premium blend fin SWS: Well, everything Johnny makes Dholakia: Swiss Chocolate Bernard: Brasil Doppelt Fermentiert Samuel Gawith: Scotch Black (I’ll have to order some Toffee)

Wow. I have some Moro Moro on the way and now I am even more eager to try it.

Being a bit new I probably don’t yet have the stripes to weigh in on this one… but unwritten rules are best because you can violate them as you wish— so here goes… For me, thus far, it’s definitely SG Elmo’s Reserve. Because I am such a fanatic over SG 1792 Flake, I was about to go mad wanting to try this one and when I received my sample packets from a mate in VA, Elmo’s went right in immediately… Perfect snuff-- first off, the moisture level is perfect for me-- no crumb, no waste-- easily taken by pinch. A fan of the tonquin, I was pleasantly surprised by the lingering flavor of the bean— and alas, when it began to fade, it was followed by the vanilla that I have now become so fond of… Wonderful experience-- nice lift (just right on the nic; though could be just a BIT stronger for my tastes) and just matches 1792 perfectly-- cannot describe how happy this snuff makes me.

every party has a pooper , but i find the subject untenable. too subjective, by half. MAYBE some pure tobacco types could…

J AND H Top Mill and FT Morocco. Not many on my list but really surely only one or two can be called a true masterpiece…

F&T Old Paris. The feel of the snuff and the less upfront scent (compared to other F&T). Grand Cairo. Good nic hit, satisfying burn, and so many citrus and spice notes with a subtle sweetness of lavender all on top of a leathery tobacco. I like a lot of other snuffs, but those are the ones I can produce compelling arguments for.

Spiced Chestnut like from Williams & Sanoma

SWS Mull of Oa, SWS Auld Alliance, SWS Moro Moro – all perfect snuffs but I’ve already written a book on here about them--

McChrystal’s O&G by a country mile. It’s one of the first snuffs I tried and memories of auld come flooding back every time I snuff it. It just has that something, that un-pinpointable aroma that the generic flavoured tobacco from other manufacturers just don’t have. It’ll always be in my top snuff pigeon hole, and I’ll never be without - unless, God forbid, the government bans UK snuffs…

I’m still very much a beginning snuffer, but Xmas Pudding is a masterpiece to my nose…

My White Elephant fanboyism knows no bounds. Really though it deserves a mention, very strong, very clean (doesn’t get all over your face, doesn’t make your nose run a lot), delicious sweet exotic tobacco scent, and a really unique sensory experience (the sharp burn that only a white can produce followed by a quick nicotine kick). It is eminently suitable for regular daily use, especially at work/in public as the amount of material required is small, it’s easy as hell to sniff without making a scene, and like I said it’s clean. I think the best snuffs have the scents that are most difficult to describe and that’s definitely the case with WE. What is it with Indian tobacco anyway? It has the most insane scents, nothing like any other tobacco - SNAFU Plain smells like salmon, Dholakia White smells like fish too, Willie Pete is like a gingko tree with that soapy biological smell (one friend said it smelled like “rotting semen”!), etc.

@fredh My experience is limited so I don’t know about the others mentioned, but I certainly agree with the Samuel Gawith Toffee.  I knew I had a new favorite as soon as I took a whiff; it’s a real pleasure.

SG - Samuel Gawith Kendal Brown Original (in the summer) / Plain (rest of the year) Bernard - Gekachelter Virginie Fribourg & Treyer - Old Paris Toque - USA Whiskey & Honey

I started to list off my favorites, but the list got long and I’ve only been at it for a few months.  I will however have to give a quick shout out to OM Bananas Foster, SWS Lundy Foot, and Toque USA Lime.  And WoS IHT 22, and SG Cherry.

SG Toffee - yet another snuff to add to my shopping cart…

Old Mill Pure Virginia Toast 2015. Not just my favorite, but this is one for the ages as I believe Fred H meant. Also, dK Son de Tonca, 6 Photo White Elephant, Rosinski Stargarder, F&T High Dry Toast. All Masterpieces and transcendent for me.

I have to agree with @Trackerdex, but I would also have Old Mill Puro Dominicana at the top of my list
