Im just interested out of all the toques which is you favorite flavour and why ? You can only choose 1 . And then your worst 1 and why It would just be interesting to see our different tastes Ok I will start My favoriteis torque blueberry and menthol … reason is its delicate enough to use all day not to much menthol but enough to just ballence out the blueberry and open the airwaves . Its also has a nice nic hit and the best bit is the flavor lasts a long time … Worst is toque chocolate …reason is I love milk chocolate and I can’t stand dark choc now in my own opinion the chocolate is a very rich dark chocolate which I honestly can’t bring myself to taking now if it was milk choc it would be a different matter … So their we go no 1 toque and no go toque
my number one toque really is probably the toffee it’s just a solid all the time snuff very candy but not too candy though it’s honestly a quick pick and a few others could have as easily gotten the spot but… My least favorite hands down peanut butter I can’t stand this one at all it’s just really gross to me not even sure what I don’t like about it I just honestly hate it. Though it’s o.k. with the choclate which is an amazingly good snuff.
See I love the peanut butter it was my no1 toque but after I received my latest order which contained blueberry menthol peanut butter took second place …
My #1 Toque is Peach because it IS peach! Everytime I take a pinch of Peach, I go wipe the nice peachy juice from my face. It’s like biting into a big yellow clinch peach. My least favoured one? Will have to think carefully about it. It’s quite a tricky question.
I have the chocolate in bulk, because I love it so. IMO Milk Chocolate is an abomination. My palate for chocolate has become so refined, I can eat sit and eat pure cacao nibs and not think they are bitter. Best Toque snuff (not having tried the newest ones) is probably Spanish Gem (Coke, Toffee, Chocolate, Original, Quit, Pomegranate are all ones I must not run out of though) I’m not a lover of any of the menthols, but the plain Menthol and Snus Ice are not bad. I’m least keen on Cherry. Peppermint is pretty awesome and underrated IMO. Christmas Pudding is pretty awesome too. So is St. Clements.
Xander I took a wild guess that you were from the usa as when I was visiting Florida I tried hersheys chocolate sorry I may have spelt it wrong but anyway it was so so so bitter … have you tried say cadburys chocolate ?? If not up send you some its so different we use a lot less coco in our chocolate here .
Toffee seems to be the best. I like it a lot but would like to see a bit more of the toffee flavour coming through. My least favourite wil have to be without shadow of a doubt peppermint or is it called sunus ice. Yak!, there is something about it that just makes it horrid in my opinion. It is the only snuff i have dumped down the drain.
Pomegranate is my favorite. It’s the perfect combination of flavor, sweet, fruity, easy to take and the flavor lasts just the perfect amount of time. My least favorite is Quit/Natural simply because the scent is so subtle and quickly gone. ( I still keep a tin of both at all times.)
@davec32: I do not find Hershey’s bitter at all, in fact I find it repulsively sweet. The answer is not less cocoa but more! I am sure I have had Cadbury’s sometime in the past, as it is available here. Anyway, I’m a choco-snob, so if its less than 60% cocoa I won’t even look at it. I won’t eat the mass produced ones. Some brands I like are Michael Cluzel, Dagoba, Endangerd Species, and many others. I prefer single plantation rather than blends, also prefer fair trade. If there is any milk product in it at all, you can keep it far away from me. @ld: Snus Ice is basically Toque Peppermint and Toque Menthol mixed. I’m sure it would have found a home had you posted it to the trades thread before putting it in the drain,
Wow that’s interesting you find it sweet it shows how much someones tastes can differ so much I mean I found it so so bitter I actualy had to spit it out . Do you enjoy reeces buttercups ? I think you will say you hate them lol but saying that when I was in wall mart reeces were so popular I mean they even make breakfast cerial their which I ate every single day lol . I can see why you love the toque chocolate now lol
Actually am I right in thinking reces butter cups are made by hersheys
You all know my fav…TOQUE COKE!
Tough question, and likely to change any given day, but here goes. Favorite- Toast and Marmalade, I mean whiskey and honey, no, no I mean toast and marmalade. Least favorite-Probably Champagne. I wouldn’t throw it out or anything, but it’s not my favorite, more of an occasional indulgence.
I have not tried the champagne I imagine it to be quite sweet and crisp fine snuff ???
I have not tried the sp either ? I’m not sure if I should wait a few more months its very fine isn’t it ???
My favourite is SP Extra, followed closely by Whisky & Honey and Lavender. The SP Extra has a lovely Bergamot and Lavender aroma that is perfectly balanced - refreshing yet soothing. My least favourite is Pomegranate - too sweet and sickly. I haven’t tried Coke, Peanut Butter, Peach, Grapefruit, Peach, Toffee or Apricot. I prefer florals, SPs, menthols and toasts to fruit/confectionary snuffs.
I’ve got an order en-route but right now I really like the Grapefruit and the Pomegranate. Didn’t think I would like Quit but when I close my eyes , the smell reminds me of the chicken feed or the straw litter from when I used to work with chickens-very natural smells that I’m fond of. Haven’t come across a flavor I dislike yet. ( It is amazing how two people can give a totally different review of the same snuff!! I guess it’s unfortunate sometimes when a smell from years ago can ruin a particular snuff for someone and make it come ALIVE for someone else. ) But to find a snuff that can remind you of a time in your life, things you were doing, places----that really is priceless
Oh, I forgot about the florals! I must also never be without Violet. Rose and Lavender are excellent too, but as long as I have one or two Rose snuffs and Lavender snuffs around, I can live.
So far nobody picked my favorite, Bourbon. My least favorite is peppermint.
I just LOVE, adore, will die for, Toque’s Peppermint. Reminds me of Wilson’s XXX Mints we used to have as kids. But, Peach still remains my number One.
I have bourbon sat on the shelf its actualy very nice but no way near to the no1 spot . I think part is right its not just on how the snuff smells or tastes but its also linked to memories its fantastic and magic powder
Of course if I haven’t used w & h or t & m for a few days, they could be my favorite for that day. I think overall though, bourbon for me. On these threads we always say “pick one” and everyone ends up with a list! It’s so hard, I know…
I always find new favorites but Spanish jem might be my favorite snuff period ,atleast for this week . It’s so perfect to me .also sp extra is my favorite sp . natural and original are also top notch. The one I dislike the most and probably the only one I dislike is quit because it’s tasteless yet burns like muriatic acid but that might be wrong to say that since it was the first snuff I’ve ever tried and it blew my face to smitherines .I might not have been ready for that one at the time.
I’m interested to know if All of the sp snuffs and bourbon and spanish gem are made from the same tabacco leaf ??? I’m sure bourbon and spanish gem are ???
My least favorite Toque is probably Pomegranate, nothing wrong with it, just that fruity tobacco doesn’t do it for me (except citrus snuffs, and Blueberry for some reason.) My favorite Toque, by amount consumed, is Natural, but my favorite flavor is Whisky&Honey, of those I’ve tried. Haven’t gotten a hold of many of the different varieties, so there may be a favorite lurking out there, for me. And I may yet jump on the Spanish Gem wagon, but I haven’t taken enough pinches of it to decide, yet.
The best is either the Pomegranate, or the Coke. The worst is W&H, though mixed with Coke it’s sublime.
Original is the best (Love sp) The worst is Cherry.
Of course, this is very tricky, as it would normally require to have gone through the whole range, at least imo. There are some Toque´s that just don´t appeal to me by their names, as I don´t like the specific tastes too much: Absinthe, Champagne, Menthol, Raspberry. Violet being sold out quite often at my favourite retailer, so I couldn´t give it a try so far. And till now I´m just not brave enough for the Cheese & Bacon. I guess someday I´ll try them all anyway. So… from the ones I´ve had, the least appealing was the Bourbon, which is cherished by lots of people. To me, the flavour is just too much resembling the smell of fish, which could be imagination for the most part. But, well, it IS a strong flavour, all the better for those who love it. And there are lots of favourites and I won´t count them all, still I find it remarkable, that the splendid Pomegranate and the Peppermint snuffs are loathed by some. Tastes differ, which is for sure a good thing. So, my favourite Toque is the Apricot, as it´s not only a perfect mixture of flavour and HQ tobacco, but it also triggers alot of emotions. Just couldn´t ever thank Roderick enough for this creation.
Favourite is the Lavender. Haven’t tried one that I did not thoroughly enjoy.
Rose is still months later my hands-down favorite. I usually take at least 2 sometimes 3 snuffs to work and though the others vary daily I always have to have Rose. Its kind of strange since I liked it at first but about halfway thru a tin of Cherry suddenly I couldn’t stand it. I just ran across the tin in the freezer yesterday and will try it again soon to see if my tastes have reverted yet again. Since I liked Rose so well I ordered the other Toque florals but though the Lavender wasn’t bad I really didn’t like the Violet. I think Vanilla is the only one I haven’t sampled yet.
Well, I as well, haven’t tried all of them but so far my favorite has got to be Spanish Gem. and I detest Pomegranate.
Best is Whisky & Honey, closely followed by Rose and Cheese & Bacon. Worst for me is maybe Espresso, never got the hang of that one.
I can’t decide on a favorite, because a lot depends on my mood at the moment. My least favorite is the Espresso, which surprised me because I love coffee. It just doesn’t seem coffee enough, if you know what I mean.
Favorite: Quit Least: Espresso
when out and about toque peach is my number one however when im at home i consume more toque origional.
Domincshore, I’m on par with you but the other way round. At home it’s Peach and away it’s Original.
The only Toques I have tried so far are Rose and Lime Toast and I enjoyed both of them but there is a certain flavour in the range that I have absolutely no intention of trying *cough* Cheese and Bacon *cough*.
Quit is my # 1 followed closely by Sp Extra. @streetcarp -The Cheese is actually pretty nice!
"@streetcarp -The Cheese is actually pretty nice! " I’ll take your word for it mate… Lol really though my problem is not that I expect it to taste bad or unpleasant, I just find the idea of the cheese and bacon smell lingering in my nose for a long time an awful trial. If I have a bacon sandwich in the morning I’ll follow it with a cup of coffee or a glass of orange juice and get on with my day, otherwise the lingering taste of bacon makes me feel greasy, lazy, sluggish etc. I like fresh, clean florals, old-worldy aromas and medicated snuffs that blow your head off, cheese and bacon seems like the polar opposite to that.
whiskey and honey so far tied with natural. Though I still need to try many more.
#1 Toque Original #2 Berwick Brown
@street carp: I wouldn’t worry about the bacon scent. The blue cheese scent is so overpowering you’ll be very lucky to notice the bacon.
I wish snuffreviews.com would have a star rating ranking instead of number of reviews. It would be a quick easy way to see what the best reviews Toque is. Personally I’m looking forward to my first 1049 tin sampler pack. I’ll get back to this topic once I’ve tried them all.
Personally, I love Spanish Gem, and Berwick Brown the best. But all are good snuffs IMHO.
At the moment, Christmas Pudding, closely followed by Original, but I’ve got Spanish Gem on order so it could change!
@Koba22 Spanish Gem is just that…a Gem. Hands down one of the best snuffs made by any manufacturer IMHO!!
I’d have to say Toque Original is my favorite. I love Quit and SP Extra too. I don’t dislike any other Toque products but I probably wouldn’t order another tin of Coke.
Peppermint. Pure win in the form of a snuff.
Haven’t tried any but the Raspberry, which I now find I can’t be without, so I’m ready to try more of these.
I think their Spanish Gem is an awesome snuff . As well as the good ol’ Toque Coke
@MikeMoose You do know that’s just a referance to the soft drink Coke right…it doesn’t actually contain…oh nevermind…
Don’t know yet, I have an order on the way though. edm
Unless I missed it, nobody mentioned my all-time favorite: Lime Toast.
@LincolnSnuff I haven’t had the privelage yet…but it is sitting patiently in my cart awaiting my go ahead!
@LincolnSnuff - finally someone else mentioned that wonderful snuff! I’ve had it almost since the beginning (not too long ago) and I use it only occasionally but with great satisfaction. It’s a truly sublime toast snuff. My favorite is tied between Toffee and Vanilla these days. But that changes often because there are so many Toques that I depend on (Bourbon, Whisky & Honey). I think the Natural and Quit are the only two I’ve tried that I can’t take with pleasure, and that’s just because I’m not skilled enough to do them right. Why I can enjoy the Lime Toast is a mystery, but I sure do. Fischy, maybe I’ll send you a small sample. I think you’d like it a lot; it’s right up your alley.
That would be right nice of ya Dave…you know that no good deed goes unpunished right?! =)
I’ve not tried any Toque product yet, but I think I’ve got a couple varieties coming with my order…
@ddavelarsen: Its not sublime its Super Lime!
Lol Xander. It most defianately is, one of my favourite toasts, especially when fresh. Stefan
Yep, Spanish Gem is truly a masterpiece for the ages. Its so good it takes a great deal of self-control not to eat it.
