I use that pocket for my fob watch, I use my inside left jacket pocket for my snuff box. My snuff box is a large antique silver snuff box with gold inlay, so pocketing it doesnt quite work.

That’s a good idea. I have some pants that have a small pocket at the bottom of the large pocket. My guess is it is for change/coins. I put snuff there, too. I wear long sleeve cotton shirts (OSHA regulations for PPE) and usually have a shirt pocket I can keep snuff in.
